Shine@DU Program Connects DPS Students with DU Labs
Shine@DU, a grant-funded program created by the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Denver University, is working to get interested DPS students into university labs at a younger age.

The program was created by Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry Brady Worrell and Assistant Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biophysics Allegra Aron. It provides a paid internship opportunity to students, an advantage that the creators didn’t have when they were young.

Over the summer, students participated in a variety of lab work. For many of them, it was their first formal job. Shine@DU gives students hands-on experience working in STEM—allowing them to gain confidence in the lab early on and explore a career in their field of interest.
