Greetings to all! It's the holidays. It's end of year. There is so much to do, to stress about, to enjoy, and there are so many ways to share joy. Some of you are the ones staging events and displays. Some of you go to as many events as you can to share the cheer and show appreciation. These events, big and small, are so important to making Kansas a wonderful place to call home. We see you -- and appreciate you.

TIPS FROM THE KSF PowerUp MANAGER
The power of practicing connection: Recently in a conversation, a friend mentioned that perhaps we don’t feel lonelier because we don’t know how to connect anymore but rather it’s a dormant skill. At some point, whether it be the automation of work, the rise of social media, or perhaps the pandemic-induced recent cold-turkey stop of in-person gatherings (hello 2020), our skill in connecting in person or in meaningful and fun ways needs a workout. This podcast about being an engaged neighbor rather than just a good neighbor gives some great tips for how you can start practicing connection. Email Simone to share what small way you might change the way you show up in your community in the new year. (Photo is of a fun way to connect with community members of all ages - attend a local high school ball game.)

RUBY'S LOUNGE, Halstead: After opening Daphne Mae's Cafe in the former Old Hardware Store in Halstead, Tessa Wending has now opened the adjoining Ruby's Lounge, 204 Main. Tessa, a Halstead native, moved back home from a successful career in Chicago to restore these two buildings. Hope you can check them out someday!

He's still looking for information for 52 of the 1,253. Can you help find any of these? If so, contact Von at captaineight1@gmail.com.
