Dear Weddington Christian Academy Families,

We are writing to inform you of potential changes to our school schedule on Monday, January 26th due to expected inclement weather that may occur. While we are closely monitoring the situation, we want to provide you with this notification early so that you can begin making the necessary preparations. Below are three possible scenarios for how the day may proceed.

Scenario 1: Two-Hour Delayed Start

  • Drop-off will begin at 10:00 AM
  • Classes will begin at 10:15 AM
  • All students should pack a lunch; lunch will not be provided by the school.
  • Before Care and Morning Activities: Before Care will be cancelled. There will be no morning activities, assemblies, or extracurricular programming prior to the start of classes.

Scenario 2: School Closure

  • School will be closed for all students and staff.
  • Before Care, classes, and all school programs will not take place.
  • All athletics, extracurricular activities, and the After School Program are cancelled.

Scenario 3: Normal Operations

  • If the inclement weather changes and no travel risk is anticipated for Monday, January 26th, we will proceed with a normal school day and schedule.
  • All afterschool events and programs will operate as usual.

We kindly request your flexibility and cooperation in light of these potential adjustments. These scenarios will impact athletic practice, Lower School extra curricular activities, and the Before School Program.

If there are any changes to our operating schedule, families will be notified via email, the Remind app, and social media. All communications will clearly indicate whether WCA is closed, operating on a two-hour delay, or running under normal operations.

We will continue to monitor the weather conditions and communicate our final decision as soon as possible. Your child’s safety and the safety of our staff remains top priority. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this situation together.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Thank you for your continued partnership.
