He explored the captivating Southeastern coast, with a special focus on the emerging beach destination that is, Cam Ranh. On this report, we will reveal the allure of this up and coming beach retreat and why it is worth a visit, especially for those looking for an ideal tropical beach escape. We have a wealth of information to share about this coastal paradise that you may find useful.

Cam Ranh - an Up and Coming Beach Destination

White sands, crystal clear blue waters, quiet beaches and a selection of luxury accommodations, Cam Ranh has everything you need for a tropical beach-get-away. It's a perfect alternative from the bustling beaches of Bali and Phuket. Cam Ranh undeniably exudes a unique sense of charm and tranquility that can easily rival the the more popular beach destinations in the country, such as Nha Trang, Da Nang and Phu Quoc.

The 'under-the-radar' allure provides a unique experience for anyone travelling here. We've made some key highlights that we observed during our visit here.

General Information about Cam Ranh

A worthy stand-alone beach destination - Cam Ranh undoubtedly deserves to be promoted as a stand-alone beach destination. It boasts pristine coastline that easily beats Nha Trang. Cam Ranh's main streets are modern and wide providing direct access to the beach from all hotels, creating a beautiful and peaceful setting. Other hotels in the area are close and can be easily reached. The hotels we visited, all have rooms with uninterrupted views of the ocean.

Luxury hotel complexes with everything you need for entertainment, dining and shopping - The area boasts large luxury hotel complexes with various integrated in-house facilities like shopping centre, water parks, movie theatre and restaurants. So even though there aren't much infrastructure available in Cam Ranh, compared to Nha Trang, the hotels here have everything guests need for entertainment all through out their stay. Soon, there will be a whole entertainment complex which is currently under construction called 'The Arena'.

For people seeking a more 'boutique' style beach resorts, we recommend places like Phan Thiet and not Cam Ranh.

Easy Access to Nha Trang - Nha trang is only a short drive away and some hotels provide daily multiple direct shuttles for those who want to visit.

Promising developments - Cam Ranh is undergoing a lot of changes and in the future, we will see more luxury 4 or 5 star hotels being built here. Currently, there are a number of international hotels already operating here, with large room inventories, often offering a mix of hotel buildings and villas.

Fun activities in Cam Ranh - There are opportunities for sightseeing activities provided by the hotels as 'day tours'. For clients who want to focus on going out in the evenings, going shopping and sight seeing, then we recommend Nha Trang as a more suitable destination.

Getting to Cam Ranh and Recommended Tour Extensions

Travelling by plane - Cam Ranh has its own airport: Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR), serving both international and domestic flights. International flights are often chartered but some flights go to destinations like Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. There are no direct flights yet to major international gateways like Bangkok or Singapore. Though, there are multiple flights connecting it to major domestic cities like Hanoi and Saigon. (as much as 20 flights per day for each city)

Travelling overland - driving from Saigon to Cam Ranh is around 373 km, which takes approximately 6 hours depending on traffic. This connection is perfect when combining a Southern overland tour starting from Saigon - Pan Thiet - Dalat - Nha Trang/Cam Ranh.

Perfect for avid golfers or Beach explorer package - an itinerary such as the above is ideal for avid golfers as each stops offers excellent golf courses. It could be packaged as a "Golf and Gourmet Tour" or a "Southern Beach Explorer Package," possibly combining Vung Tau, Nui Dat, and the Mekong Delta. Clients could depart from Cam Ranh either back to Saigon or continue their journey to Hanoi or Danang.
