Victoria faces a range of challenges from climate change, a growing population, and a critical need for housing development to meet the needs of that growing population. This could create the perfect storm for our urban water cycle, with the potential for unmanaged stormwater to exacerbate flooding and degrade waterway health.
On the other hand, thoughtfully managed stormwater presents a range of opportunities for our future cities and towns. With good planning, stormwater management can help ensure water security, reduce flooding, support urban waterway health, foster biodiversity, and create cooler, greener, and more resilient urban spaces.
No person or organisation can deliver these outcomes alone. Good stormwater management requires collaboration and integration across all stages – from initial planning to ongoing operation and maintenance. Through collective action, we are more than the sum of our parts.
In this spirit, we invite you to submit abstracts that align with one of the following conference streams:
-
Inspiring a Shared Vision: Strategy, policy, and education
-
Innovation and Crossing Boundaries: Science, research, and innovation
- Fostering Collaboration and Building Trust
- Full Circle - Design to Operation and Back Again
The Call for Abstracts Guidelines will provide you with all the information you require to prepare your submission, and also include some 'thought starters' for your abstract within each of the four streams.
Conference presentations will be offered as 30-minute concurrent sessions. Abstract submissions must be made through the online submission portal by Tuesday, 10 December 2024.
