Winston Student Council: Who We Are & What We Do

At The Winston School, Student Council is all about student voice. Council members are your classmates, friends, and teammates coming together, building school spirit, and dreaming up the kinds of events and activities that make Winston special.  We are also the bridge between students and staff, making sure every voice is heard and every student feels like they belong. 

When We Meet: Mondays at 12:15 pm (during lunch)

Why We Meet: We gather to share ideas, problem-solve, and make Winston an even better place. Student Council is about action!  We are finding real ways to make things happen.

What We’re Working on This September: Spirit Month, Planning Dress-Up Days, and launching the Penny Wars fundraiser

We’re excited to get started and can’t wait to see how our ideas come to life this year!

Support Field Trips at Winston!

We need your support for field trips - an essential part of the Winston experience that brings learning to life. Field trips extend learning beyond the classroom, giving students opportunities to connect their studies with real-world experiences. From the Fleet Science Center and local museums to the Vista Courthouse and nature explorations, these excursions spark curiosity and deepen understanding. Your support helps cover transportation and admission fees and ensures that every Winston student can participate fully.

Flag Football is back, and we are excited to kick off our second season! Our athletes have been working hard both on and off the field to prepare for an exciting year ahead. As we continue rebuilding our league, we are thrilled to announce the addition of a new opponent to our schedule. This year, Merit Academy— a school with a student community similar to ours—will be our season opener. We invite everyone, not just sports families, to come out and cheer on our Bulldogs. Your support makes a huge difference, and we can’t wait to see you there!

Our Winston families are our best ambassadors.
