KSA PAC Seeks New Directors
A political action committee (PAC) is the most effective political tool available to Kentucky Architects – allowing our members to pool financial resources and support candidates who will further the collective interests of the profession. This committee is critical to the mission of AIA KY and is in need of additional directors to serve on the KSA PAC Board. Specifically, the PAC is seeking a Vice Chair and an Assistant Treasurer who will be appointed to serve two-year terms on the board. Members who are interested should contact PAC Chair, Tony Kleyer, AIA for additional information.

AIA KY Small Firm Exchange
Approximately 75% of all firms within the AIA are small firms (10 employees or less), and many of these small firm members do not feel represented within the larger organization. The mission of the Small Firm Exchange (SFx) is to advance the mutual interests of architects practicing in small firms and leverage our collective voice for collaboration and influence. SFx is charged with:
| |
- Advocating the value of small firms, the national SFx, and local SFx groups
- Curating and disseminating pertinent resources and info that benefit small firms
- Advising the AIA of current issues facing small firms and areas in which current resources/information are lacking.
Jim Guthrie, AIA is AIA KY’s representative to this member group and he periodically sends emails from the exchange that focus on small firm issues and resources. If you’d like to be included in this group, please contact Jim at jguthrie@hubweber.com. You can also log in to the AIA website and set up your profile and affiliations, selecting “Manage My Communities” and check SFx member group at the bottom of the page to add your information to the SFx group.

AIA Launches News and Content Hub
In early April, following the end of AIA’s partnership with Zonda Media, AIA launched a new digital media hub to ensure its members have access to high-quality, relevant content. The content hub, which is available on AIA's new website as a member benefit, offers a unique user experience. It follows the relaunch of the AIA Architect newsletter, which is now AI-driven and fully customizable for every member.
The hub features original reporting, project features, articles on firm management and best practices, industry trend pieces, member insights, and more. Our goal is to position AIA as the go-to news source for our members – while expanding our reach to the broader AEC industry.
This innovative approach to delivering content is a testament to AIA's commitment to adapt and evolve in step with changes in the media landscape, ensuring its members continue to receive the most relevant and engaging content. Check out the hub here!

One of the most exciting things about the Derby is how people from all over the world visit our state to take part in the festivities. There is an amazing energy that surrounds Churchill Downs and the city of Louisville as people come together and celebrate the culture of Kentucky.
For that same reason, it’s an exciting season for AIA Kentucky! This time of year offers multiple opportunities for our members and industry partners to come together for fellowship with one another and recognize our members’ many great achievements.
For starters, I can’t wait to see all the smiling faces at our Summer Social on the May 13th, followed by our board networking happy hour in Louisville on Tuesday the 28th. (Stay tuned for details.)
I am equally anxious to see the submissions and nominations roll in for our annual design awards and service awards, as it is one of our highest priorities to elevate awareness of our members' impact on their communities.
Finally, I can't wait to see who will become the NEXT cohort of the Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program! Applications will be available later this month and this will become a tightknit group of young professionals who are equipped to become the future of our organization so it's an incredibly exciting opportunity.
I hope you will consider participating in at least one of these fantastic programs and/or come to Asheville for our Aspire Conference this fall. Early bird registration is already open so you can start planning your trip today!
Cheers,
