Message from the Associate Dean - BCH Oakland

December 2023

The Daylight...

The daylight is scarce but beautiful in the Bay Area as we approach the winter solstice. But with it comes many celebrations and the notion that spring is coming with all its growth. We approach this winter with so much faculty engagement in education, research, and the clinical mission.

We are so proud of the recent fellowship matches announced over the last week. Congratulations to the trainees and all the faculty mentorship that went into helping them move forward in the next stage of their careers.

We are looking forward to next week's events including an All-Faculty Meeting to be held at 5 pm on Thursday, December 14th in the OPC Auditorium with a Zoom option, where we will delve into the clinical learning environment at BCH Oakland and all through UCSF.

Recruitment season is in full force for the pediatric residency program at BCH and I encourage you all to support the GME office in their efforts to interview candidates.

Finally, and most of all I wish you a bright holiday season with appreciation for all you do.

Be well,

Kelley

Release of the UCSF Changemaker Series

The UCSF Changemaker Series, created by Professor of Medicine Hilary Seligman, MD, MAS, is a four-part video series that seeks to build the capacity of UCSF researchers to generate scientific evidence that is responsive to the needs of real-world decision-makers. Each 10-15 minute video highlights a UCSF researcher in conversation with an interdisciplinary panel of non-academic experts discussing how investigators at all stages of their careers can more meaningfully inform policies, systems, and structures in order to create social or policy change.
