Natural Climate Solutions Grants
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has announced a second round of $30 million in Natural Climate Solutions grants, equally divided to fund “blue carbon” projects like living shorelines, tidal wetland and salt marsh restoration, and “green carbon” initiatives such as forest restoration and urban tree canopy enhancement.
Individual awards ranging from $250,000 to $5 million for projects spanning three to five years, and this round brings the total funding under the program to $54.3 million. Applications are currently being accepted on a rolling basis, through the DEP’s online portal.

CRDA Grant Applications
The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) has opened its grant application period for Community Development, Tourism/Marketing, and Government projects, targeting initiatives that strengthen Atlantic City, attract visitors, and enhance quality of life.

Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy Program
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has launched the Garden State Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) Program, providing a new financing mechanism for property owners to implement energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, and climate resiliency improvements.
This program enables property owners to repay financing through a special assessment on their property tax bill, with terms up to 30 years. Eligible projects include both retrofit and new construction, with specific guidelines and requirements outlined in the program documentation.
Municipalities must opt into the program to participate, and interested property owners can submit applications through the NJEDA's online portal. Applications are currently open and will be accepted on a rolling basis.

HAZARDOUS DISCHARGE SITE REMEDIATION FUND
In partnership between the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), the Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation Fund (HDSRF) offers grants and low-interest loans to help clean up contaminated sites across New Jersey. Municipalities and public agencies can receive up to $2 million annually for preliminary assessments, site investigations, and remedial actions, with additional funding available for projects in designated Brownfield Development Areas. Grants may also cover up to 75% of cleanup costs for sites being repurposed for recreation, conservation, or renewable energy, and 50% for affordable housing projects.
Private entities and nonprofits with limited net worth may qualify for grants covering up to 25% of cleanup costs and loans up to $500,000 annually. The fund prioritizes sites that pose immediate environmental threats or are critical to redevelopment plans.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Main Street Acquisition Support Grant
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s Main Street Acquisition Support Grant is a grant product that will offer a reimbursement of closing costs up to $50,000 to eligible NJ small businesses that have purchased a commercial property in which their business will operate from. This product will help support small business that have made a substantial investment and recently purchased a commercial building.
Applications are available online and will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all funds are committed.
