Mayfair Musings

The days have been getting longer and the nights have been getting shorter in London. It's been less colder than when I was in NYC last week. And the sun? It shines more than I expected.

It's been four months since I packed up and moved here. I finally have my daily routine figured out, friendly neighbors to have dinners with, lots of industry friends coming to visit. I must say I've settled in quite well and I'm loving it!

As such, it gives me so much pleasure to share this lovely city with you on April 4th. In the meantime, this newsletter has a lot to unpack. I hope you're ready!

Spicing it up in Londontown 🌶️

TIDE is bringing the BIGGEST North American LPs across the pond to join forces with UK's finest LPs. This is a special pop-up event for LPs and TIDE SPARK sponsors as a special token of appreciation for all your support. We love you! 🫶🏽

This event will feature Marcie Frost (CEO of CalPERS), Eduard van Gelderen (former CEO of APG and current CIO of PSP Investments), Mark Fawcett (CEO of Nest) and more speakers to be announced!

It will provide a quick one-day overview of what is top of mind with the leading institutional investors. They’ll share how 2023 ended and their expectations for 2024. It’s a great takeaway for all asset classes.

Future Leaders Program

Under the leadership of Kim Au, We're excited to announce the launch of our Future Leaders Program. It's an inaugural non-profit initiative, funded by proceeds from TIDE, which will provide the next generation with access to education and the tools to build a career in finance.

The program funds c. 65 rising stars (associate level finance professionals and college students) to attend the TIDE SPARK 2024 conference in California.

We will also be delivering a crash course on institutional investments to the rising stars.

The program aims to equip the next generation with knowledge about institutional investments, create access for those wishing to enter the industry and enable connection. If you'd like to be involved, please e-mail:

It's no secret that TIDE is the place to connect for everything and anything within the investment industry.

Whether it's access to high profile asset owners or highly qualified talent, many depend on TIDE's network as a resource.

During the "Attracting Talent in a Competitive World" panel at iConnections, I mentioned that one thing trending within TIDE's network is the search for independent Board Directors from diverse backgrounds. While there are many organizations and associations that try to tackle this, TIDE does things differently. We sprinkle a little bit of sparkle dust and magic happens.

Currently, we are doing a Board Director search for a Korean public company with over 1.5T KRW (1B+ USD equivalent) market cap.

Requirements:

- At least 5 years of experience as a CFO at a Korean public company OR a Korean CPA holder with at least 5 years of experience in a related field

- Experience in the biopharma/healthcare industry

- A female talent is preferred to improve board diversity

- Speaks Korean & English

- Is qualified to serve on a Korean public board given the limit to how many Boards the candidate can sit on
