A Message from Our Acting Executive Director Jennifer Pippard | |
Hello everyone! We continue to feel the excitement of ARC’s Casino Night 2023! It was wonderful to be together and honor Angela Whitman ARC’s longtime friend, and Jimmy Jensen who demonstrates every day the spirit of ARC! At Casino Night we raise funds for upkeep of our facilities and enriching our programs like our ARC Rainbow Garden. Our fundraisers fill the gap not covered by the Regional Center and the impact of inflation. A heartfelt thank you to all who supported Casino Night 2023. We encourage you to help us grow our ARC community, come visit us, and bring a new friend to experience the goodness we are building on and fun new additional programs.
ARC is sending our positive thoughts to former first lady Rosalynn Carter whose family recently announced she now has dementia, bringing awareness to this important issue and to caregivers. Mrs. Carter once said there are four types of people: those who were caregivers, those who are caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers. She worked to ensure that support to caregivers is a valuable part of our healthcare system. At ARC, we are building our knowledge on how dementia impacts the people we support. This year we started working with Noah Homes https://noahhomes.org/ to build our skills and increase our community's understanding of the care needed as people with developmental disabilities age. If your family is interested in learning more, please reach out to us.
Best, Jen
