Faculty & Staff News

Mr. Jim Ott has announced that he will be resigning from his teaching and coaching positions at KML at the end of this school year as he pursues other vocational endeavors. He has faithfully served students and families through Christian education for three decades, and we are thankful for the many ways the Lord has worked through Mr. Ott's ministry at KML for the past 12 years.

We wish Mr. Ott God's richest blessings as he begins a new chapter!

Join us in welcoming Ms. Christine Manthey as one of our Learning Center Assistants!

The General Board has called Mr. Matthew Evans to serve at KML as a Word of God and Spanish instructor. He currently teaches at St. Lucas Lutheran School in Bay View, Milwaukee. Please keep Mr. Evans in your prayers as he deliberates where God would have him best us his gifts in the ministry.

Gala Donations

Each year, our gala brings our community together to celebrate and support the mission of KML—and that impact is only possible through the generosity of partners like you. We invite you to be part of this special evening by contributing an item or experience to our silent or live auctions or by supporting the event through monetary donations for silent auction items.

We are currently accepting gala donations in the following high-interest categories:

  • Unique experiences (sports, theatre, travel, sporting events, and more)
  • Spa products, wellness, and personal services
  • Gift cards and certificates*
  • Skylight 27” Wall Calendar (Amazon or myskylight.com)

To contribute an item, please complete the online item donation form (kmlhs.org/gala-donate-item) and mail or drop off your item at KML labeled “Gala” and include your name.

Donation Deadline: March 20, 2026

Early donations are especially helpful as we begin creating exciting auction packages for our guests.

Want to donate to the silent auction but aren't sure what type of item to give? Monetary gifts in any amount allow KML to purchase additional items for the silent auction and are also greatly appreciated! Donate at kmlhs.org/gala-donate-item > Monetary Donation for Silent Auction Items.

Questions? Contact Tracy Schmidt (262.677.4051 x4096; tracy.schmidt@kmlhs.org).

Thank you for considering a gift to support our students and our mission. Your generosity truly makes a difference!

*Support KML TWICE While Earning Tuition Credit!

Use KML's SCRIP Program to purchase the gift cards you wish to donate to the gala, and earn tuition credit for your current or future Charger! Buying gift cards through SCRIP allows KML to earn money TWICE ... once through the SCRIP Program and again through the gala proceeds. Gift cards may be from any retailer and in any amount from $10-$50 offered by SCRIP. Visit kmlhs.org/scrip or stop by the KML SCRIP Office to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Donation Deadline: March 20, 2026

Host an International Student in 2026-2027

KML is seeking families to host international students for the 2026-2027 school year. The number of host families that we have available determines the number of international student applications we will be able to accept. Host families receive a stipend of $800/month to provide housing, meals, and transportation from early to mid-August through the end of May.

KML’s international students are required to have a high level of English fluency, but may not be used to speaking English all the time. Many of them also experience American culture for the first time when they come to KML, and our foods and customs take time to get used to. Host families need to be patient, understanding, and open-minded about the addition of an international student to their family.

Applications for hosting for the 2026-2027 school year need to be submitted by March 15, 2026. If you are interested in serving as a host family, complete and submit the KMLHS Host Family Application.
