Sensory Friendly Morning at the CAC
|
On February 12 from 9-10 a.m. ET, the Contemporary Arts Center will be made extra welcoming to more sensitive guests. Families will be able to choose from a variety of activities and do them at whatever time they feel most comfortable. Documentation of diagnosis is not required. Participants will receive a sensory map and social narrative, and a sensory bag with fidgets, hearing protection and sunglasses. There will be quiet space available, as well as seat cushions, weighted lap pads, and other miscellaneous tools. This event is FREE, but registration is required due to the limited size of the program.
More about the Contemporary Arts Center
Founded in 1939 as the Modern Art Society, the CAC was one of the first U.S. institutions dedicated to exhibiting the art of our time. In 2003, the Center moved to its free-standing home, the Lois & Richard Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art, designed by Zaha Hadid. The CAC exhibits new developments in painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, performance art and new media. The CAC is supported by the individuals and businesses that give annually to ArtsWave, the Ohio Arts Council the City of Cincinnati and the National Endowment for the Arts as well as contributions and grants from generous individuals, corporations and foundations. Coming Soon... The Children's Theatre
Sensory-Friendly Performances
|
At The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, we believe theatre is for everyone. That’s why we are so excited to present the fifth season of MainStage Sensory-Friendly performances at the Taft Theatre. These are special performances intended for individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, who may benefit and their classmates and families, not for the general public. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold.
This season we are happy to present two performances during the weekday for school groups and families for productions of "Roald Dahl's Matilda: The Musical Jr." on February 9, 2022 at 1 p.m. ET, and "The Wiz Jr." on April 6, 2022 at 1 p.m. ET.
