Celebrating Local Business & Water Infrastructure
Congratulations to the owners of Vitality Fitness on Spring Street. This weekend Supervisor Levenberg, Trustee Lopez and I stopped by with giant scissors and red ribbon to celebrate. The Supervisor even stayed to participate in the morning's cross fit class. Every small business that succeeds in Ossining is an affirmation that great things are happening for our local economy.

Last Wednesday's Village Board work session included a visit from Village Engineer Paul Fraioli and Water Superintendent Andrew Tiess. Never a dull moment for water in Ossining! The topic last week was unrelated to recent concerns regarding taste and odor. Instead it was a capital project that has been in the works for some time. When the Village participated in a Water Demand Management program offered by NYC, we undertook a proactive effort detect leaks in the water system. We were so successful in tightening up our system, we now have to compensate for that with a vent system in some of our larger tanks. Wednesday's Legislative Session
This week's meeting includes several items related to 2020 Capital Projects. The one that will most directly impact the experience of Ossining residents is the implementation of new software that will greatly improve the ability for folks to do online applications and payments. Deputy Mayor Rika Levin will take the gavel this week as I have a prior commitment with my husband. Click here to view the full agenda .

The legislative session will take place at the courthouse on Spring Street and begin at 7:30pm. There are a number of invitations for community members to offer comments. If you would like to spread the word about an upcoming event, please take up to two minutes during Organizational Announcements. Folks who would like to comment on the resolutions included on this week's agenda may do so for up to four minutes at the start of the Village Board Resolutions portion of the meeting. The meeting closes with an invitation for community members to comment for up to three minutes during Visitor Recognition about any topic of relevance to the common good of the Village.

With Regards,

Uniting Through History
This all star team was a compelling part of Friday evening's program at Park School. Kudos to Projecto Alcance and all the organizations and educators who brought families together around the theme of unity. Pictured here are Town Historian Scott Craven, representative of the Little Bertie County Genealogical Society Joyce Sharrock Cole, Village Historian Dana White, and Ossining parent and frequent volunteer translator Rodolfo Moran. Together they told the story of the people who have made Ossining their home, beginning thousands of years ago.
