Culpepper Garden is thrilled to receive a $1,000 grant from Keep Virginia Beautiful to install a Bird Watching Native Garden. This project will provide an enriching birdwatching program that fosters community engagement and promotes mental and physical well-being. The habitat will incorporate native plant species that attract migratory birds and provide essential food sources and shelter for these avian visitors. Residents, volunteers, and community members will enjoy educational workshops and guided birdwatching tours led by experience naturalists. With the help of volunteers, we will conduct a comprehensive monitoring program to track bird species diversity and population dynamics within the habitat.
The mission of Keep Virginia Beautiful is to engage and unite Virginians to improve our natural and scenic environment. This year 30 organizations throughout the Commonwealth were awarded Green Grants in four different categories: Litter Prevention, Cigarette Litter Prevention, Community Beautification and Recycling.
