A Note from Pastor Jo Ann
Celebrating our love and compassion for all generations, we move from celebrating the Schlegel family in worship and fellowship this past Sunday to remembering and honoring Mid Connelly on Saturday at 11. Thank you to the many volunteers who have already decorated, provided food and offered practical acts of hospitality. Mid's family will provide a simple lunch and we are seeking a few members to help with serving and clean-up.
How many people does it take to run a church? It has been a full week and we are only just beginning.
This week we transition two talented young women into staff roles. Robin Stranahan will manage the church office from 9-2 each Monday through Thursday. She is a great leader and collaborator and was fortunate to have two weeks overlap with Megan. A top priority for Robin will be updating our website and social media. Linda Green will offer support in the details of this project.
Going forward, Sanam vonKaenel will lead our youth and children's ministry programs. She will be formally introduced to our children this Sunday and will meet with the youth during worship. There will an event for families at 2 pm on Saturday the 24th. Titled a "Kick Off Event" there will be food, conversation and some activities with a soccer ball. Sanam would also like to meet with parents after worship on June 24. Her advisory group includes Brandy Young, Meghan Green, Tyler Brinkman and Agatha Asiimwe.
Join us for a lively and full service this Sunday. We will celebrate the men in our lives, offer highlights of the Annual Conference gathering in Tacoma and offer opportunities to support our ministries. I hope to see you all soon and often.
Join me in prayer for Marie Stephenson as she grieves the recent loss of her son. Much appreciation to the many who rallied around Tony and Ann Siegmund this past Sunday. Tony fell during fellowship on Sunday and was taken to the hospital for testing. He returned home on Sunday evening with no significant findings.
With love and blessings,
Pastor Jo Ann
