The annual Golden Oak Gala was a resounding success, thanks to the incredible support of the Laguna community. This year's event at the Rosewood Miramar Beach saw a record turnout, and I deeply appreciate everyone who contributed.

Items purchased online and at the Gala will be available for pick up after spring break at Braun House on the Hope Ranch campus. Please arrange to pick them up starting April 8 between 9AM and 3PM, Monday through Friday.

Today, seventh grade student-teams of three presented their UN Summit project. They represented a UN member country and its sustainable goal, seeking funding from the UN to address pressing challenges within their chosen countries. Well done, Owls!

As a culmination of their third quarter interdisciplinary unit of PE and Performing Arts, fifth grade students performed Capoeria. They have been actively learning about the history, movement, and music of Capoeria and Maculelê under the guidance of Capoeria Santa Barbara.

FOURTH ESTATE MAGAZINE

The latest issue of the Fourth Estate Magazine, edited and produced by Laguna Upper School students, is now available. The Columbia Scholastic Press Association's Gold Circle Awards were just announced for the 2022-23 academic year and recognized the following students for their outstanding achievements (click each name to see their work):

Yesterday, Spaulding Theatre was alive with energy as Upper School students showcased their array of talents. From soulful singing and skillful guitar performances to a hilarious French skit, the show culminated in the emotional Senior poetry slam, moving many faculty and staff to tears.

During Tecolote Tuesday, Lower School students gathered to learn about the Persian New Year, Nowruz. The word meaning "New Day," is a 3,000-year old spring festival, representing 13 days of renewal, happiness, and prosperity. Special thanks to first graders Sahar and Kasra for embracing the spirit of renewal and sharing their cultural traditions that mark the arrival of spring. The celebration continued in the First grade classroom where the Nasseri family read a book about Haft Sin, a tradition involving setting up an altar at home. Students also received Nowruz coloring books. Happy Nowruz!

Last Saturday, the Boys Varsity Volleyball attended the fifth annual Bishop Diego Cardinal Classic tournament where they worked hard and earned third place in their pool and consolation title. Shout out to Drew Levinson '24 and Baylor Wilson '26. Go Owls!

The Boys Varsity Volleyball team cruised to a three-set sweep over Bishop Diego last Thursday, making them undefeated in the league this season. Shout out to Ganden Walker '24, Tyson Deveze '25, and Drew Levinson '24!

On Tuesday, the Boys Varsity Volleyball won 3-0 again over Bishop Diego at the Tri-Valley League game. This places the Owls to 6-0 in the Tri-Valley League with 20-4 overall. Shout out to Ganden Walker '24, Drew Levinson '24, Tyson Deveze '25, Teddy Wilson '26, and Liam Knezevic '25!

Last Thursday, the Boys Varsity Golf team took down Grace Brethren 248-255 in a league matchup in Thousand Oaks. Shout out to Mason Siegel '25, Jules Leclercq '25, Jack Garcia '24, Ethan Carrington '25, and Tanner Murphy '24!
