Welcome to the Vaughan Institute's monthly update. It's been a big month. Below you'll find our shared accomplishments and upcoming activities. Key Performance Indicators

• Congratulations to our 64 spring RMI graduates!
• 250 students enrolled in the RMI program
• 199 Students enrolled in the RMI Major
• 32 Students enrolled in the RMI Certificate
• 18 Students enrolled in the first MBA Program with RMI focus
• 1 Student enrolled in the PhD Program with RMI focus
• 51 Gamma Iota Sigma Members

This month, we had the pleasure of hosting the Insure Your Future 2024 cohort at the Principal Charity Classic in Des Moines for a new summer kick-off event. With nearly 80 students and employers in attendance, this event provided freshmen and sophomore summer interns with the opportunity to hear from an excellent group of employer panelists and last year's Insure Your Future peer mentors to maximize their summer experience. Students even got to hear from professional golfer, Chad Campbell, on the intersection of risk management and being a professional athlete. Students also had the opportunity to meet one another and practice the art of networking with industry professionals.

A special thank you to Dan Houston, Chairman, President, and CEO of Principal, and Debi Durham, Executive Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, for sharing their perspectives with students on the future of our industry and state of Iowa. Also thank you to our peer institutions, Drake University, the University of Northern Iowa, and Iowa State University, and the Iowa Economic Development Authority for their partnership in this one-of-a-kind program in the nation. Big thank you to Michael Gould at IEDA and Cory McAnelly at Principal for your help puling this off.

Enterprise Risk Management Experiential Projects

After a semester of hard work, our Enterprise Risk Management students completed their experiential projects which allowed them to demonstrate their comprehensive risk management and insurance knowledge in a real-world environment. Students worked closely with risk professionals to explore their project prompts, develop solutions, and finally present to their project liaisons.

Senior Job Placement Survey Results

87.5%

Between certificate and major students, 64 RMI students graduated this spring. While our current capabilities only allow us to track major students, of those that completed the senior placement survey sponsored by the Pomerantz Career Center, 87.5% of RMI major graduates had secured a full-time position before graduation. Way to go, Hawkeyes!

Insurtech Insights

Join Vaughan Institute Executive Director, Jim Lewis, at Insurtech Insights in New York City June 5th and 6th. This exciting and innovative event hosts the world's best and brightest in insurtech. As a program that heavily values innovation and creative problem solving, this event is integral to understanding an ever-changing industry. 18th Annual Vaughan Institute Golf Outing - 8/22/24

Mark your calendars - the 18th Annual Vaughan Institute Golf Outing will take place at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville. The golf starts at 11 a.m. with a best shot format on August 22nd, 2024. Golf will be followed immediately by awards and a networking event from 4-5 p.m. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with industry partners, and network with a large group of our best and brightest RMI students! We expect this event to sell out so download our flyer, consider being a sponsor, and get your foursome registered.

RISKWORLD 2024: Peter Diamandis Shares Five Trends Driving Future Innovation

Click the above photo for a link to the entire article. We had the opportunity to watch Peter's presentation at the RIMS annual event with 14,000 attendees. This made quite an impact on how we look at AI and innovation for the future of risk management and insurance.
