What our partners are saying...
"We are seeing a rise in homelessness in our clinic, housing being a huge issue. I recently had a mom who is HIV positive and homeless, have her baby and have to take the newborn to the VanBuren homeless shelter when she left the hospital. When she came in with the baby who was 4 days old, she was putting on a brave face that she is ok, she's doing fine, she has what she needs and clearly didn't want to ask for anything. We had put together a bag with some formula, a few outfits that were donated to us, a bottle, a changing pad, and then we included diapers and wipes. When she opened the bag, the diapers were on top. She immediately burst into tears and thanked me over and over saying she was almost out of diapers and was worried about getting to a food pantry to get more. We had met the need before she even asked and that took the embarrassment out of her having to ask for diapers."
