Summer Job Opportunities Are Here
Do you know any 16 years olds (or older) that are looking for a summer job? We can guarantee that working with the Recreation department is much better than mowing lawns all summer. If you know of anyone that is interested, look at www.losaltosca.gov/employment-opportunities for all of our opportunities. These internships range from leading summer camps to learning how to implement Recreation policy. College students can earn class credit if they qualify. Now is the time to start looking for summer internships, so tell your son, daughter, grandkid, or neighbor to check us out.
Police
Ideas for Police Informational Presentations
The Los Altos Police Department is always looking for new and fresh ideas for information topics we can present to the public. These educational sessions help to spread valuable safety tips to different members of the community. This year, the Los Altos Police Department wanted to hear from residents about what they are looking for! Visit us at https://www.opentownhall.com/8302 to submit your ideas or vote for your favorite one.
Is Your Home Earthquake Ready?
Homeowners, you can now register for a grant of up to $3,000 to be used toward a code-compliant seismic retrofit to make your house more resistant to earthquake damage through Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB). EBB is a program jointly administered by the California Earthquake Authority (CEA) and the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). Recreation
Dog Park Opinions
Next Saturday (February 29th) will be your last chance to submit feedback about fenced-in dog parks and off-leash hours. These workshops are from 10am to 11am and 11am to 12pm. Residents are not required to stay the whole time, but we will have an informational presentation during them. We want to encourage everyone to come and give their opinion. This feedback will be complied and given to the Commission to help them make a recommendation to Council. Our last workshops had 173 attendees; help us pass that number for our next ones!

Can't make it to the workshops? Stop in at City Hall or the Underground in person, and ask to put in your feedback there. City staff are more than happy to accommodate you, and your feedback will be counted with everyone else. Visit us at www.losaltosca.gov/dogpark for more information on the options and times.

Voting is Now Easier in Santa Clara County!
Santa Clara County voters will join more than half the voters across the state when they cast a ballot in March using an exciting new voting model that makes it easier than ever to cast a ballot.

It’s called the Voter’s Choice Act, and it emphasizes convenience for the modern voter. Everyone will get a ballot that they can return postage-paid by mail, which is by far the most popular way to vote, or they can place it in one of 99 conveniently located and secure drop-boxes. Voters who prefer to vote in person can still do so at any of the more than 110 Vote Centers that will be open throughout Santa Clara County – some for up to 11 days. Remember, now it is Election Day every day between February 22nd and March 3rd! If you want to learn more information, visit the county's website:  www.sccvote.org/voterschoice
