I saw a coyote at Mitchell Field this morning!

The beautiful ice patterns made a re-appearance today.

This Red-shouldered Hawk has been on this branch for the last three mornings, but until today it did not stick around long enough for me to get any decent pictures of it. These are OK, but the light was less than ideal in today's storm.

It seems to be unusually large. Merlin says they are smaller than Red-tailed Hawks, but this one looks to me to be nearly the size of a Bald Eagle, which is what I thought it was the first time I saw it as a silhouette against the sky.
