I hope everyone has been enjoying their spring festivities, whether it's Easter, Passover, or something else. It's been wonderful to meet so many new visitors at the shop and to reconnect with visitors who return annually to Cambria and the shop.

One of my besties, Kathy, was visiting from Oregon and we were able to enjoy sunshine and some of the area's fine wines and scenery at Hearst Ranch Winery and Harmony Cellars.

This week we are kicking off the Spring Shawl MAL on Friday April 10th!

And we have our 1st Learn to Knit Drop-In Session on Sunday April 12th!

Beverly is the most popular shop "employee". Today she was visited by Tracey and Sassy from Santa Clarita!

Loops and Looms are Back!

Your favorite loops and looms for potholder making are back in stock!

Making potholders was one of my favorite crafts when I was a child! It’s one of those wonderful old fashioned inventions still popular today...and useful for fire safety! It’s fun, and easy to do for all ages!

Cast On Day for the Spring Shawl MAL is Friday!

Cast On for the Spring Shawl Make-A-Long is just days away...Friday April 10th @ 12PM!

Here’s how the MAL works…select a shawl (scarfs and cowls are also ok) to knit or crochet, purchase the yarn at the shop or online, and we will gift you the pattern! Cast on any time after noon Friday April 10th and finish your project by noon Friday June 26th to be entered to win a $100 shop gift card.

We have a some kits but you can also choose your own adventure! We'll be stitching together every Friday at the shop from 12 - 1:30PM during Friday Fiber Friends.

I've had both the Floral de Lis Shawl using Fino and the Scout Mini Shawl using Lamb & Goat on my "To Make" list for a while. I'm still not sure which one i'll start on Friday!

FIPs and WIPs

This week, I needed some instant gratification. I cast on and completed a Clover Scarflette using my leftover Glimmer and Diva yarns from my Tulum top. The Clover Scarflette pattern is a free download!

And I knit my "Easter Bonnet" using hand-spun Merino from Wonderland Yarns. Katy from our Thursday night zoom group spun the yarn for me!

My Nazar Bag using Modern Linen continues to be one of my WIPs. But I also cast on the Elyssa Dress using Spiral Grain Sport at the start of the week.

Last year I was overwhelmed with all of the LYS (Local Yarn Store) love! I'm so looking forward to LYS Day 2026 on Saturday April 25th!

LYS Day is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community. It’s a day dedicated to the small businesses that bring fiber enthusiasts together, offering unique yarns, expert advice, and a welcoming space to learn and share.

On the 1st Wednesday in May, I'll be in Chicago at the annual H+H Trade Show. So in May we'll be sipping and stitching on the 2nd Wednesday of the month rather than the 1st one, May 13th from 4-6PM.

This event is FREE and meets in the shop from 4-6PM. We serve wine and tea and snacks during this event.
