Happy First Saturday friends!

Here is a friendly reminder to join us and our art neighbors at the Minnesota Street Project for the First Saturday events. The building has extended hours today until 7pm!

Beginning at 5pm, we welcome Griff Williams of Gallery 16 for a walkthrough of our REX RAY exhibition and book signing of his new book, Rex Ray: We Are All Made of Light.

Griff Williams and Gallery 16 began working with Rex Ray in 1995, a relationship that continued until Rex's passing in 2015. As steward of Rex's estate, Griff brings a personal, firsthand perspective to the artist's practice and continuing influence, making this walkthrough a special opportunity to hear more about Rex and his work.

The REX RAY exhibition brings together collages on canvas, resin panels, and pigment prints created between 2000 and 2014.

In 2009, PBS produced a wonderful documentary on Rex Ray and his creative process titled How to Make a Rex Ray. If you're curious to see him in action, jump to the 11:39 timestamp to see his remarkable freehand technique.

Be sure to check out the recent online SHLTR feature on REX RAY, written by Zahid Sardar.

Rex Ray: We Are All Made of Light book is now available at Themes+Projects gallery.
