Blueberries Fresh From the Farm

It's blueberry season and we could not be happier. A blueberry is just an awesome fruit - tiny in size but big with flavor. Blueberries get their intense blue color from anthocyanins, a type of antioxidant. Blueberries are a superfood and are so versatile, they can be used in every meal. A cup of blueberries has only 81 calories and freeze beautifully. Just a handful, about a quarter cup of blueberries a day, can give you all the benefits they offer.

For fresh blueberries Saturday, visit J & M, but come early. Shop with us weekly for more fresh blueberries as they are harvested.

May is National Egg Month

The Mississippi Egg Marketing Board's annual Easter Coloring Contest was a huge success with many entries from the state's school children ages four to nine-years-old. A winner was taken from each age group and each received a $50 gift card.

All of the entries of the coloring contest are displayed at the Mississippi Farmers Market.
