Giving

Dear Saint families,

I hope you have had a joyful start to the school year and are looking forward to a restful Labor Day weekend! It was wonderful to see so many of you on campus for Parent Nights. I am truly grateful for your continued support and partnership, and I am excited for the year ahead as, together, we seek to grow in holiness and live out our theme, “Totus Tuus”, Totally Yours.

As we begin this new school year, we look forward to continuing our devotion to the First Fridays. This year, in a special way, we invite our school community to grow closer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to embrace this beautiful devotion together.

We will begin this Friday, September 4, when we are honored to welcome Bishop Vasquez to St. John Paul II Catholic School to celebrate Mass with us. We hope you and your family will join us for this special celebration as we begin our First Friday devotion and entrust our school year to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Now that September is here, our campus is buzzing with energy! After-school activities and sports programs are in full swing, and I encourage you to stay connected by reading Saints Weekly for important updates and upcoming events.

Our virtue for September is Faith: believing in God and all that He has revealed. What a beautiful virtue to begin our year of Totus Tuus, giving ourselves completely to God and trusting Him to lead us.

May this school year continue to draw us closer to Christ and help us live each day with hearts that are Totally His.

Father-Son Spring Break Pilgrimage: Walk the Camino de Santiago March 5-13, 2027

Join Fr. Eamonn for a once-in-a-lifetime experience on the Camino de Santiago! Designed for 7th and 8th grade boys (both incoming and newly graduated) and their fathers, this is more than simply a walk across Spain. It is a pilgrimage that has inspired travelers for centuries - an unforgettable journey of faith, friendship, challenge, and discovery.

Over six days and 115 kilometers (72 miles), fathers and sons will journey together on foot through some of Spain’s most breathtaking countryside, following the ancient paths that lead pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela. Along the way, participants will share meaningful conversations, moments of prayer and reflection, and the thrill of adventure together.

The Camino has a unique way of deepening spiritual and human relationships, building character and resilience, and creating lifelong memories. Whether you are seeking adventure, connection, spiritual renewal, or simply quality time together away from the distractions of daily life, this pilgrimage offers a truly extraordinary experience.

Come walk the Camino and discover why this ancient pilgrimage continues to transform hearts today. Register today!

Conquest Club (5th-8th grade boys)

Conquest meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 7:00–8:30 p.m. in the GSC. The 1st meeting is 9/9/26! Dads are always welcome and encouraged to attend. Bring a friend! Come in casual or sports clothes, and bring a Bible or New Testament if you can.

Conquest is a virtue-based, teen-led program that helps adolescents grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ while developing as Christian leaders. The program is gender-specific, team-based, and service-driven, designed to respond to the real needs of today’s youth.

If you have any questions or if you would like to register please contact Fr. Chad Everts LC at ceverts@legionaries.org.

Growing in Faith, Dignity & Virtue

As part of our Religion curriculum at St. John Paul II Catholic School, students in PreK-8 will participate in two Archdiocesan programs this year: Human Sexuality Catechesis (Spirit of Truth - Theology of the Body) for grades 1-8 and Circle of Grace for PreK-8.

Rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church, both programs help our students grow in faith, understand their God-given dignity, and develop the virtues needed to live as faithful disciples.

Please review the flyer being sent home and below with your child for additional information about these programs and what to expect.

The talk will explore the hidden dynamics that shape children’s digital lives and offer practical guidance for parents.
