Marcy Alsteen
Marcy is a lifelong Green Bay resident, the oldest of seven siblings, and the proud mother of her daughter, Amy, and son-in-law, Jesse. She is also a loving grandmother to Jack and Grace.
After 25 years at her previous church, Marcy felt it was time to find a new spiritual home. She visited First United in September 2024 and has returned every week since! Recently retired, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Over the past two years, Marcy has deeply valued the opportunities to grow in faith through Scripture study, worship, and fellowship. We are grateful that she has found a spiritual home at First United and look forward to continuing to grow together in fatih.

Susan and Emmalyn Castle
Susan grew up in Allouez and West De Pere and has deep roots at First United. She was baptized and confirmed here and is a fifth-generation member of our church family. After returning last year, she felt called to reconnect with the church, both for her own faith journey, and to nurture Emmalyn's faith as well.
Susan is currently a student at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) and works at a local restaurant. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, baking-especially sourdough bread-and traveling. Above all, she treasures spending time with Emmalyn.
Susan's family history makes her return especially meaningful, as she continues a connection to First United that spans five generations. We are delighted to welcome Susan and Emmalyn into this next chapter of their faith journey at First United.

Joanne Clark
Joanne has lived in the area for 87 years and was a member of her former church for 66 years. Her connection to First United is especially meaningful because of her family's history here. Her grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Morsette, were members, as were several members of the LaRock family.
Joanne shared that she felt that church was calling her to First United. She is grateful to have a church family in her life and to continue nurturing her faith in a welcoming community.
Joanne's story reminds us that a church can be connected to generations of family while also offering a place for new beginnings and renewed fellowship. We are grateful that she has joined our congregation and look forward to sharing in worship, friendship, and the life of faith together.

Dan and Amy Dennis
Dan and Amy have called Wisconsin home for many years, although their paths began in different places. Dan is originally from Hancock, Michigan, while Amy grew up in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. College brought them both to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in the mid-1990s, and they have been married since June 2000. They have a grown son, Ari, who lives in Minneapolis.
Dan teaches at Leonardo da Vinci School in Green Bay, and Amy works at the Mulva Cultural Center right here in De Pere. They were looking for a Christian community that was active, welcoming, and supportive. Their first visit to First United was on Christmas Eve in 2025, and we are glad that their search brought them to us!
Recently, Dan and Amy have taken up camping with their dogs, who have adjusted well to their new adventures. Apparently, you really can teach a dog new tricks! They are also Minnesota Vikings fans. No one's perfect!
We are delighted that Dan and Amy have found a church community where they can grow in faith, build friendships, and participate in the life of First United.

Cynthia has spent her life actively participating in the life of the church and sharing her faith with others. Before joining us at First United, she served as a leader in her former congregation, taught Sunday school, mentored others, and helped guide the church through service on its board.
Cynthia was drawn to First United by our pastors, the sermons, and the music program. She brings a wonderful spirit and a wealth of experience to our congregation. Her commitment to Christian education, leadership, and helping others grow in faith reflects the many ways God calls us to serve.
We are blessed to welcome Cynthia to First United and look forward to the gifts, wisdom, and enthusiasm she will share with our church family. Her experience and dedication to the church are wonderful reminders that each person has unique gifts to offer in service to God and others.

Tim and Eva Hess
Tim has lived in the Green Bay area for most of his life, while Eva is originally from Oconto Falls. Tim works as a plant facilities manager at KI, and Eva teaches music at St. John the Baptist School in Howard.
First United has been part of Tim's family story for many years. His grandparents, Bob and Marilyn Knuth, attend our church, and Tim occasionally joined them for church activites while growing up. He also has fond memories of enjoying FUPC fruitcake at Christmas-and he was baptized here!
Beginning in 2024, Tim and Eva began exploring First United more intentionally. Their decision was influenced by the church's family connections, its proximity to home, and most importantly, the similarities between First United and their connection to ur congregation especially meaningful.
Together, they enjoy playing music, cooking, ballroom dancing, ice skating, and spending time with their dog, Freya. Tim also enjoys sailing, snowmobiling, and deer hunting, while Eva participates in the Dudley Birder Chorale and enjoys crocheting.

Finding a new church can be a significant transition, especially after many years in a familiar community. We are grateful that Janet's fellow congregants helped her discover First United, and we hope our congregation will continue to provide her with friendship, encouragement, and opportunities to grow in faith.
In her free time, Janet enjoys doing puzzles, a pastime that offers a wonderful combination of patience, curiosity, and problem-solving. Whether working through a challenging puzzle or getting to know new friends, Janet is beginning a new chapter in her church life.
We are happy to welcome Janet and look forward to sharing in worship, fellowship, and the life of faith together.
