Who we are

Give now

In March, we joined the children of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lenoir, for their annual service project.

The children learned about the importance of service, then helped us pack 150 bags of food for our Weekend Backpack Food Program!

We currently feed over 120 kids weekly in seven area schools. Your donations help us fund this program, to ensure that kids have the food they need to sustain them when they are not in school.

See more photos here and watch a video of the kids in action here.

A Toast to Caldwell

Kathy attended The Caldwell Chamber's A Toast to Caldwell event this month.

We're proud to share that one of our United Way Agencies, Communities In Schools of Caldwell County, received the Community Impact of the Year Award.

Their work supporting students across our community in our middle and high schools truly make a difference!

Community Connections

Kathy, and Board President, Sara, joined the Women in Rotary to present appreciation gifts to the City of Lenoir Police Department. We're grateful for the officers who work everyday to help keep Caldwell County safe.

Save the Date for the next Caldwell Women's Forum event on May 20 from 5:30-7:30 pm at The HUB in Hudson. This event will be eligible for one hour of SHRM Continuing Education credits, so if you have HR professionals in your workplace who are interested, please share. Interested in sponsoring the event or reserving a table? Contact Leighanna here.

United Way Agency Highlights

Caldwell County Smart Start debuts their new van, made possible by the United Way of Caldwell County. This van will allow them to serve more families and children in need by delivering essentials like baby wipes, formulas, and diapers, to families that may have transportation or work/childcare barriers. Keep an eye out for the van at a future community event near you.

We're excited to welcome Natalie Rowland, as the new Executive Director of the Lenoir Soup Kitchen!

Kathy attended the Lenoir Google Data Center Expansion Announcement, where Google shared updates about its continued investment in our community. Learn more here. They announced a $1,000,000 donation to Blue Ridge Community Action's Weatherization Assistance Program.
