Academy for Teaching Features Six Course Tracks

In August, we officially launched the Academy for Teaching, a series of 12 self-paced online courses designed for all MSU educators. Grounded in evidence-based pedagogical practice, the academy allows educators to explore evidence-based teaching practices, refine core instructional competencies, and discover strategies that enhance student learning and engagement. CTLI and UHW Welcome Inaugural Pedagogical Wellbeing Specialist

We'd like to extend a warm welcome to Sheila Marquardt, who joins CTLI as MSU's inaugural Pedagogical Wellbeing Specialist. In a collaboration between University Health and Wellbeing (UHW) and CTLI, Sheila will help MSU's educators identify pedagogical practices that can maximize both their own well-being and that of their students. The first Pedagogical Wellbeing Specialist in the Big Ten and one of only a few nationwide, Sheila melds expertise in teaching and clinical mental health counseling. She will support MSU's educators as they build resilience, create sustainable teaching practices, and prevent burnout. Her groundbreaking work in this space will help CTLI and UHW be national leaders in elevating student success through pedagogical well-being.
