ISSUE NO. 37 | JULY 13, 2026 | | | | |
Hello...and bring on the rain!
Like many of you, I've been watching the sky, hoping those clouds finally bring the soaking rain our region needs. Until then, I'm finding inspiration in the artists and stories that continue to remind us of the beauty, resilience, and creativity all around us.
This week, poet Patty Spak shares a deeply personal piece that stayed with me long after I finished reading it. I hope you'll also take a moment to listen to her read the poem in her own voice. We're also spotlighting Fantastic Cat, the talented quartet bringing their unique blend of music, humor, and incredible musicianship to Concert Hall @ The Park, and celebrating the whimsical world of artist Chuck Middlekauff, whose paintings never fail to make me smile.
And don't miss Beyond Our Corners, featuring the remarkable musical genius of Jacob Collier and the enduring story behind John Denver's beloved Take Me Home, Country Roads.
As always, I hope you'll click through and enjoy the full stories. If you like what you read and would like to support independent arts journalism, I'd be grateful if you'd consider Buying Me a Coffee. Every contribution helps keep these stories coming.
Thank you for reading—and here's hoping we all get a little rain this week. Have a wonderfully creative week!
