January News and Updates from the Office of Alumnae Relations

Letter from the President

Dear Alumna,

I hope you and your loved ones are staying warm during this snowy and cold week of January! This past Sunday, we began the celebration of Catholic Schools Week - United in Faith and Community. Although our community was not physically together, we celebrated in spirit and continually give thanks for the Catholic High education we have received. I encourage you to show your appreciation for Catholic High by making a gift to support upgrades to our Production Booth!

As we move into February, we look forward to the many fundraising events that take place in the coming months such as our annual Wine Tasting & Dinner, Spring Fling, and Cub Classic Golf Outing. More information will be available soon. We are especially excited for the Class of 2026, as Senior events are on the horizon!

May God bless you and keep you safe throughout 2026!

Lux Tua Luceat,

Barbara D. Nazelrod, Ph.D. '68

From the Archives

Throwback to 2016

This month's edition of From the Archives features Dr. Nazelrod '68 and members of the Board of Trustees posing for a picture in the new production booth during the Catholic Schools Week Liturgy!

Over the past 10 years, our Production Booth has seen its fair share of musicals, concerts, and school assemblies. Our Production Booth is in need of some love and attention! Please consider making a special gift during Catholic Schools Week! It is a great way to show your support and make a difference in the lives of our young women!

Alumnae News and Events

Johns Hopkins First-Year Speaks With Seniors

On January 14, we had the pleasure of welcoming first-year Johns Hopkins University student, Maia Te '25, to speak with our Seniors in Bioengineering about her experiences as a Biomedical Engineering student! Maia covered topics such as BME courses, scheduling, research projects, and other student-life related opportunities available at Johns Hopkins. It was so nice having Maia back in our hallways to share what she's learned during her first semester!

The Alumnae Giving Project

Happy 2026 to our alumnae! I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who made a monetary donation or went shopping for the 100+ children and 50 senior citizens that we supported in 2025. I also want to express my heartfelt thank you to the three alumnae who made phone calls, the two alumnae who accepted gifts at their homes, and also my family and friends who helped with the project in so many other ways! We've been doing this together for 17 years, but it wouldn’t be possible without the help of so many wonderful individuals.

Attached to this month’s newsletter are photos of the 35 bags of clothes and toiletries we donated to a nursing home for patients without families. The other picture shows the 40 gift bags for residents of Jenkins Senior Living. Goodie bags for another 100 residents were also donated by a faithful alumna!

Fondly,

Bonnie Lee '60
