HOPE IS A PRACTICE

YOU CAN BEGIN NOW

Some days you feel like hope is a foreign language. Depression has flattened the color out of everything while anxiety keeps you circling the same old fears at two in the morning. Somewhere along the way, you started wondering if your faith was supposed to fix this. You are walking through a valley where even a whole chapter of scripture feels like too much to carry. We have lived at this intersection of mental health and faith and we know that you are not alone.

Blessed Hope: 90 Daily Devotions for Mental Health and Faith offers three months' worth of short and honest devotions designed for your hardest days. Each entry pairs a single word with scripture and a real story to remind you that you are worthy of care and love just as you are right now. Reclaim your birthright to hope one small faithful day at a time.

About the Authors

Rev. Dr. Sarah Griffith Lund is a pastor whose ministry sits at the intersection of mental health and faith. In 2018 she was called as the first woman senior pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Indianapolis, and she partners with the United Church of Christ Mental Health Network and Disabilities Ministries in the ongoing work of mental health and disability justice.

Rev. Dr. Chad Abbott serves in spiritual formation and mental health ministry with the Indiana-Kentucky Conference of the United Church of Christ and its Mental Health Network, walking alongside clergy and congregations as they tend to the intersection of spiritual care and mental well-being.

Sarah and Chad wrote Blessed Hope together over shared meals and

shared chai lattes, trading the 24-hour news cycle for conversations about the kind of hope that gets rebuilt one small, faithful day at a time.
