Flu Hospitalizations Rising: Colorado flu activity is increasing early, with hospitalizations already on the rise. This early rise in cases follows Colorado’s severe 2025–2026 season — the state’s worst on record for children. Last respiratory virus season, Colorado recorded 5,931 flu-related hospitalizations, with almost one-fifth of those hospitalizations being children. Learn more and find important vaccine information.
October is Pedestrian Safety Month: Throughout October, the BPD Traffic Unit will be spending extra time patrolling crosswalks throughout Broomfield to help keep pedestrians safe. A few important safety reminders for pedestrians: Stay alert! Don't let a familiar route put you on autopilot. Keep your eyes up, avoid distractions and pay attention to traffic. Use crosswalks whenever possible, stay visible and continue watching for vehicles until you've safely crossed the street.
