Time is Running Out!

Last Chance Buy-In for Sweepstakes enrollment is only available until October 15, 2019 . This program is for any horse(s) that were not entered into the Sweepstakes Program. After the October 15 deadline, the chance for entering a horse which is already on the ground will be permanently discontinued.

This one-time nomination makes your horse eligible to compete at the 18 Regional Championship Shows, Canadian Nationals, Sport Horse Nationals and U.S. Nationals in Sweepstakes-designated classes and Jackpot classes (qualifications may be required in some classes). The only classes not eligible to the Original Entry category are the Sweepstakes Yearling Halter classes which are reserved for Breeding Entries only.

The Original Entry category is open to any horse that is registered with the Arabian Horse Association or the Canadian Registries. Your horse does not have to be by a Sweepstakes Nominated Sire or out of a Sweepstakes Nominated Dam to enroll.

Attention Nominated Sire Owners

A Nominated Sire Breeding Information Report for 2019 must be received in the AHA office by November 1, 2019.

AHA will actively solicit the owners of the mares that your Nominated Sire has bred and encourage them to enroll their unborn foals as Breeding Entries. Please take the time to fill out the enclosed AHA Nominated Sire Breeding Information Report and follow these simple steps:

Complete a report for each Nominated Sire
List all outside mares that were bred this year
If only inside mares were bred, or if your sire was inactive, please indicate and return the form to AHA

Nominated Sire Breeding Reports can be completed online at www.ArabianHorses.org . Simply log in to the AHA website and click on Nominated Sire Breeding Reports, locate your sire and click on the name. You may enter as many mares as needed.

Please note : The Nominated Sire Breeding Information Report is separate from the required AHA Registration Stallion Report.

Meet an Arabian Horse Day Wrap Up

"Throughout the September 21 weekend, numerous Arabian horse barns, clubs and individuals brought their hor ses out to the public for Meet an Arabian Horse Day.

Meet an Arabian Horse Day was designed to introduce the public to the Arabian horse, and encourage them to take the next step in involvement, including lessons, volunteering, or even looking into horse ownership."

On September 21 alone, over 20 events took place across the nation, and over 2,000 people were exposed to the Arabian horse. To see the full list of events that took place visit arabianhorses.org/HorseDay .

There are still more events planned for the following week s in October, with the total number of hosted events climbing to over 30 that will reach over 5,000 people.

Thank you to everyone who hosted an event, to those who are planning on hosting an event, and to those that brought their horse(s) out to connect new individuals to our breed. Stay tuned for future similar events as AHA works on providing materials to help our members promote Arabian horses locally. Thank you to the Purebred Arabian Trust for their support o f this program.

Horses Wanted for the National Youth Judging Contest

We are looking for Halter, Country Pleasure, PB Show Hack, or Costume horses. Please contact Brenna Johnson if you have a horse available.

Horses would be needed in the morning on Friday, October 25 in the Pavilion. Each horse that is shown in the contest will be credited back for one stall fee.
