For those of you who have a student that may be considering where to live next year, we wanted to connect with you to ensure you have information about the selection process happening this month.

Your student can choose to keep their current space or move to a different one! The selection process gives them the most possible options. If it's your student's first year on campus, this process is completely different than how they got housing their first year. There are no preferences - your student just follows the dates here, logs in here, finds a space they want and chooses it.

They have until March 1, 2021, to cancel their 21-22 contract without penalty. If your student isn't ready to make a decision yet, that's okay! They can still choose to live on campus after March 1 - the process just looks a bit different.

We know this year has been different - and we're looking forward to the chance to provide a home-away-from-home and an on-campus experience for your student next year.

With lower rates in many halls and the option of the Silver or Bronze meal plan (see below) for any current student who returns to the halls next year, your student can live in a residence hall for around $8000 - this includes all furniture, utilities and meals!

Plus, your student will have a campus connection that leads to higher success during their Iowa State adventure. Our flexible contracts mean you're not paying for space when your student isn't here in the summer. And, we let students out of their contracts for academic reasons like study abroad, graduating early, student teaching and internships.

We continually engage with students to get their feedback on our services. Students shared they'd like more meal plan options if they're in their second-year or above and decide to stay in the residence halls. We're excited to be able to offer that change for the 21-22 academic year.

If your student chooses to come back to the residence halls next year, they'll have the option of the meal plans outlined here that offer the ultimate in flexibility. In addition, they will be able to choose the Silver or Bronze plans. Details on those plans can be found here.
