Ski to Sea is back on May 25, 2025!
Come out and help us cheer on Team Birch on our unprecedented, never accomplished before...chance at winning the Ski to Sea 4 years in a row!!!
Teams race 93 miles from Mount Baker to Bellingham Bay, featuring kayaking, running, downhill and cross-country skiing, road biking, cyclocross and canoeing. It’s the perfect way to spend Memorial Day weekend with family, friends, and the whole community!

Bellingham resident Jeff hilburn (Kayak), Bellingham resident John Whelan (Runner), Winthrop resident Erik Bjornsen (Cross Country Skier), Arthur Whitehead (Downhill Skier) of Colorado, BC residents Glen Bond & Bob Woodman (Canoe 4x Top Gun recipients) and buddies from Utah; Jack Shuckra (Cyclocross 1x Top Gun) & Matt Bailey (Road Bike- 2x Top Gunner & Broke course record last year!)
Team Birch Equipment is a collaboration of team Captain long time Bellingham resident Jeff Hilburn (kayaker) & Bellingham local Sarah Rothenbuhler (Birch Owner) who both wanted a team with local heart & roots to win Ski to Sea.
This dream team has gone on to win the last 3-years in a row & keeps in touch throughout the year with well wishes, updates & damn funny commentary.
