“From what we get we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.”
𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘭
Last month we shared with you the Doug Jacobson Scholarship Program. To date, we've raised $10,000 and donations are still pouring in! This month we are asking you to get involved! Here are four ways you or your organization can be part of the Doug Jacobson Scholarship Program:
𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚. You and/or your company may contribute a gift of any amount to the Business Credit Foundation in the name of the Doug Jacobson and the Scholarship.
𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙚. Your company can participate by agreeing to welcome a paid intern into its Credit and Collections Department for a single academic term for a junior or senior student attending an accredited institution near your business.
𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩. If you have a close relationship with the Business School at a particular college or university (perhaps your alma mater), you can introduce us to the institution so that we can build a relationship with our program.
𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙚. Tell others in our profession about the Jacobson Scholarships and encourage them to participate.

National Hamburger Day - May 28th
|
Did you know, hamburgers did not really catch on in the United States until the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. Since then, the delicious burger can be found in any town, anywhere in the United States...but not all burgers are made equal.
In honor of National Hamburger Day, we found the best burgers in Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. Next time you are in the neighborhood, check out one of these local joints and let us know what you think!

Red Mill Burgers, Seattle, WA
Owners John and Babe Shepherd named the Red Mill in honor of their two late sisters, Kathleen and Monica Shepherd, both of whom worked at the original Red Mill as waitresses and would bring home french fries and other goodies for their younger siblings including Michael and Mark Shepherd. This classic Seattle burger joint is celebrating 25 years in business!
Arctic Road Runner, Anchorage, AK
Often voted as having the best cheeseburgers in Anchorage, Arctic Roadrunner has been an Alaska tradition for decades. For an Alaskan twist on the classic burger, try one made with a wild salmon patty instead of beef.
Annie's Island Fresh Burgers, Kealakekua, HI
Annie’s burgers are huge, juicy, inventive, and amazing… and the fries are absolutely killer as well. This unassuming spot in sleepy Kainaliu is truly one of the best spots on the entire island for an organic, grass-fed burger. Toppers include avocado, barbecue sauce, maple caramelized onions, lime-cilantro coleslaw, and different types of melted cheeses. There is also plenty of fish, chicken, and vegetarian “burger” options for those who aren’t into beef.

Alaska Airlines Shows Off Plane With New Paint Job Highlighting Diversity And Inclusion
|
An airline’s livery is the core of its brand identity, with colors and icons that define a carrier’s image for years, or even decades – such as Qantas’s kangaroo, Lufthansa’s crane, or the oryx that graces the tails of Qatar Airways’ jets. Today, Alaska Airlines plotted a route toward more inclusivity with the reveal of a specially painted plane that highlights diversity, equity, and education.
