September 2026

As we begin a new school year, there is excitement throughout St. Thomas Aquinas High School that is truly special. Our school motto this year, “Hope Begins Here,” is something we see lived out every day in Saints Athletics.

This year, we are especially excited about a new initiative, the Saints Athletic Ambassadors Club (SAAC). This group gives our student-athletes a voice and an opportunity to lead, serve, build school spirit, community service projects and help shape the future of Saints Athletics. Our students are not simply participating in athletics; they are helping lead the way.

We are incredibly proud of how our teams have started the school year. Our student-athletes are competing with class, character, and sportsmanship, while our coaches continue to lead with faith, purpose, and commitment to our mission.

If you were part of Homecoming, you saw the very best of STA. The school spirit throughout our entire community was tremendous, and honoring our military, police, and fire personnel made the evening even more meaningful. It was a special night and a wonderful reminder of what makes our community so strong.

Athletically, many of our teams have moved up a division this year, and we could not be prouder of the way our Saints have responded. They have shown that they belong and that they are ready for the challenge.

While championships are often used to measure success, we measure success by our actions every day. When we commit to our philosophy, compete with character, and live our mission, the results have a way of following.

We are proud of how we have started—and we look forward to making this our best year yet.

Hope Begins Here, Saints Pride!

The Cressey Family: Giving Back

At St. Thomas Aquinas, we are fortunate to have families who believe in our mission and understand that supporting our students can take many forms. The generosity of Brian and Christine Cressey is a wonderful example.

The Cressey’s generously provided STA with a minibus at a minimal cost, helping address one of the ongoing challenges facing high school athletics: transportation. With rising vehicle costs, repairs, fuel expenses and driver shortages, reliable transportation is essential to getting our Saints safely to competitions.

The Cressey family’s connection to STA began through their family’s dealership and leasing company, which served the school for many years. When their daughter, Hannah, was looking for a rigorous academic experience, the family toured STA, and Hannah ultimately made the decision to attend. Nolan followed when he was old enough.

“We see how committed all of the staff at STA are to the students and the mission of the school,” the Cressey’s shared. “It is fun to be a part of that.”

Their involvement grew even further when Christine signed Brian up to help drive sports trips.

“I was hooked,” he said.

For Cressey’s, giving back is about much more than a donation. STA has challenged their children to succeed, learn from failure and become part of something bigger than themselves. They believe in supporting the school with their time, talent and treasure so that other students can share the same experience.

Their message to the Saints community is simple: “JUMP IN with BOTH FEET.” Whether it is volunteering at a golf tournament or Last Blast, participating in a food drive, donating financially or simply trying something new, every contribution matters.

“We feel it really does take a village,” the Cressey’s said. “This is not just an experience for your kids; you are part of it too.”

We are grateful to the Cressey family for their generosity, their service and their belief in St. Thomas Aquinas and Saints Athletics.

Ryan Allard - A Once-in-a-Lifetime Golf Experience

St. Thomas Aquinas senior and golf captain Ryan Allard recently had the opportunity of a lifetime, representing First Tee New Hampshire at the PURE Insurance Championship, a PGA TOUR Champions event held at the legendary Pebble Beach Resorts in California.

Through First Tee, Ryan was selected to compete alongside professional golfers and First Tee juniors from across the country. During the experience, he played both Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course, two of the most recognized courses in the world.

The experience became even more memorable when Ryan had the opportunity to play alongside Mike Weir, Masters champion and PGA TOUR Champions professional.

“Playing Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill alongside PGA TOUR Champions professional and Masters Winner Mike Weir was an experience I’ll never forget,” Ryan said.

While the golf itself was unforgettable, Ryan said the experience taught him lessons that extended far beyond the course. He learned the importance of patience, staying mentally strong, maintaining a positive attitude, and, most importantly, enjoying the moment.

“I was able to compete at two of the most famous courses in the country while learning from professional golfers and amateurs, and that’s something I’ll always be grateful for,” he said.

Ryan also developed relationships with fellow First Tee participants and the amateur players he competed alongside, including business professionals who shared their experiences and perspectives.

As a senior captain of the Saints golf team, Ryan will bring those lessons back to his teammates this season. His experience at the PURE Insurance Championship is a great reminder that athletics is about more than the final score, it is about the people we meet, the lessons we learn, and the experiences that stay with us long after the competition ends.

Saints Athletic Ambassadors Club (SAAC)

Takes Shape at STA

“Hope Begins Here” - And that hope is taking shape through the Saints Athletic Ambassadors Club (SAAC) at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Now in its first year, SAAC has grown to 25 student-athletes representing our varsity athletic programs, with students from multiple grade levels coming together to make a positive impact on our athletic community.

Led by Director of Athletics David Morissette, the SAAC was created with the hope that it will ultimately become a student-driven and student-led organization. Its mission is to develop servant leaders who inspire excellence, strengthen school spirit, foster sportsmanship, and live the mission of St. Thomas Aquinas through faith, leadership, and service.

After two meetings, one message has stood out clearly: school spirit is a top priority for our students. Members have already shared ideas for creating greater energy and support at athletic events and finding new ways to bring our teams and school community together.

Looking ahead, SAAC will also focus on service projects and opportunities to give back, including youth activities, teacher appreciation, school events, charitable drives, and other initiatives.

These student-athletes have accepted the responsibility to be role models, welcome and support all athletes, promote sportsmanship and inclusion, and help make every STA athletic program stronger than they found it, “Develop and Discipline Within Our Mission.”

Fall Sports Season Updates

Girls Soccer 4-3-1

After an incredible run over the past five seasons—including four championship appearances and two titles—the Saints have moved up from Division III to Division II!

This move is a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment the players and coaches have poured into building a strong and successful program.

Now competing in Division II, the Saints are facing a new level of competition. They currently sit at #7 in the standings with a 4-3-1 record, and the games have been exciting from start to finish, keeping fans on the edge of their seats!

With eight regular-season games remaining, the Saints have plenty of time to make their mark and build momentum heading into the tournament. Can the Saints finish strong and make a deep tournament run in their first season in Division II? Let’s find out!

Boys Soccer 7-2

Boys Soccer is ON FIRE! After graduating a large group of players last year, the Saints entered this season expecting a bit of a rebuilding year. Instead, they’ve reloaded and are making a statement with an impressive 7-2 record!

The Saints’ only two losses have come by a single goal, 0-1, while they’ve dominated the competition, outscoring opponents 50-4! Sophomore Eli Koelker has been a force in net, already recording four shutouts on the season with plenty of soccer still to play.

With seven regular-season games remaining, the Saints are pushing toward a strong finish and another trip to the championship game. Can they repeat? The road to another title continues!

Football 1-3

The Saints have faced a challenging start to the season, battling through key injuries and several hard-fought games decided by just a small margin. But with five regular-season games still to play, there’s plenty of football left—and plenty of opportunity to turn things around.

The Saints will look to regroup, battle through the adversity, and finish the season strong as they fight for a spot in the tournament. Can the Saints make a late-season push and punch their ticket to the postseason?

Field Hockey 7-2

The Saints continue to impress! After capturing the Division III championship last season, the girls were ready for a new challenge—and they’ve embraced it.

This season, the Saints moved up from Division III to Division II, stepping onto the field against tougher competition. So far, they’re proving they belong, sitting at an impressive #3 in the standings with a 7-2 record! Now, the Saints face a huge test this week against #1 and undefeated Bow, followed by four more regular-season games.

With the postseason approaching, the Saints are building momentum and showing they have what it takes to compete at the next level. Can they make another championship run—this time in Division II?

Volleyball 8-1

After a long run in Division II—including several rebuilding seasons—the Saints have moved into Division III and are making an immediate impact!

The Saints currently sit at #3 in the standings with an impressive 8-1 record, and they’ve been dominating the competition, with seven of their eight wins coming by way of a three-set sweep! With seven regular-season matches remaining, the Saints still have plenty of opportunities to build momentum. Their biggest test comes this week when they take on #1 and undefeated Portsmouth Christian Academy.

Can the Saints rise to the challenge and keep their incredible season rolling? And, after more than a decade, can they make their first championship appearance since 2012? The road to the championship starts now!

Golf 22-2

The Saints golf team is putting together an incredible season, currently sitting at #1 with a 22-2 record and just six matches remaining!

Led by a group of seasoned veterans who have been hungry for a championship after coming up just short in recent years, the Saints have put together a strong and consistent season. Now, they’re within striking distance of bringing home another title.

The Saints’ last golf team championship came in 2018. After years of hard work, determination, and close finishes, could this be the year they return to the top? Can the Saints finish strong and bring the championship trophy back to STA?

Cross Country

The Saints cross-country team is putting together a strong season, with runners consistently setting personal records and achieving new team bests!

With the season winding down and only a short time remaining, the Saints will look to keep building momentum, pushing their limits, and chasing even more PRs. Can they finish the season strong and continue to set new personal and team bests?
