Ordinary Time begins

The green season

The term "Ordinary TIme" is used in the Church to indicate the parts of the liturgical year that are not included in the major seasons of the church calendar. Ordinary Time includes the Monday after Pentecost through the Saturday before the First Sunday of Advent. It is the longest period in the liturgical calendar.

Ordinary Time can be understood in terms of the living out of Christian faith and the meaning of Christ’s resurrection in ordinary life. Rather than focusing on major milestones in Jesus's life (like his birth, death, or resurrection), this season centers on the teachings and parables of Jesus, the ongoing mission of the church, and the everyday walk of Christian discipleship.

The term "Ordinary Time" comes from the word "ordinal", which simply means "counted time". Instead of referring to mundane or plain days, it highlights that the weeks are sequentially numbered (e.g., the Second Sunday after Pentecost).

The season after Pentecost may be referred to as the “green season,” because green is the usual liturgical color for this period of the church year.

First Sunday Breakfast tomorrow

Between services

Join us tomorrow, this Sunday, between services for our monthly First Sunday Breakfast.

Enjoy our standard breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon. All free!

And, of course, we'll have plenty of hospitality and good fellowship as well.

Handicapped Door installed

Lock changed

We are proud to announce the lower level east entrance to the church from the parking lot has now been converted to a handicapped door.

The door is activated by a switch and will be available during regular church hours.

Please note the lock on the door has been changed. If you have a key to the old door it will no longer work. New keys will be distributed.
