Council of Producers & Distributors of Agrotechnology The Business Council for Agrotechnology | | CPDA Releases Member Resource on Avoiding EPA Registration Delays
CPDA has developed a new member resource, Avoiding EPA Registration Delays: Practical Submission Tips for CPDA Members, to help companies prepare clearer, more complete submissions for EPA review.
The guide was developed following consultation with EPA, review of recent Agency presentations, and publicly available EPA registration guidance. It is designed to help registrants avoid common issues that can slow the review process, including incomplete forms, unclear cover letters, inconsistent labels or Confidential Statements of Formula, missing explanations, and late changes during review.
While every registration action is different, the goal is straightforward: help CPDA members submit packages that are complete, well-organized, and easier for EPA reviewers to process.
CPDA will continue working with EPA and industry partners to support a more efficient, transparent, and predictable regulatory process for pesticide products and related technologies.

CPDA Shares 21-Day Content Screen Review Worksheet
CPDA is sharing another new member resource to help pesticide applicants better prepare for EPA’s 21-day content screen and avoid common submission deficiencies that can delay review.
The 21-Day Content Screen Review Worksheet is based on the checklist used by contractors completing the 21-day screen and includes notes on common application deficiencies identified by EPA as of May 2026. The worksheet is intended to help applicants review their submissions before filing and confirm that required forms, supporting materials, cited documents, and related information are included and consistent.
CPDA extends a special thank you to our PRIA Coalition partner, the American Chemistry Council’s Center for Biocide Chemistries, for putting together the initial document that helped inform this member resource.
As EPA continues to focus on review efficiency, CPDA will continue providing practical tools to help members prepare complete, well-organized submissions and support a more predictable pesticide registration process.

Science Societies Launch “Dig In. Do Good.” Workforce Development Campaign
The American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America have launched Dig In. Do Good., a new workforce development campaign designed to introduce young people to careers in agronomy, crop science, and soil science.
The campaign is targeted toward college-bound high school students, as well as early college students who are still exploring their academic and career paths. Through a student-focused website, the initiative provides practical tools to help young people better understand the career opportunities available in agricultural and environmental sciences.
Resources include career profiles, an interactive career quiz, information on agronomy, crop science, and soil science, college search tools, and materials for teachers and guidance counselors.
For CPDA members, this effort is an important reminder that the future of American agriculture depends not only on sound policy and strong regulatory systems but also on building the next generation of scientists, researchers, agronomists, crop advisors, and technical experts who will help support innovation across the agricultural value chain.
CPDA encourages members to share this resource with students, educators, local schools, FFA chapters, 4-H programs, community colleges, land-grant universities, and others who may be interested in helping young people explore careers in agriculture and science.

FESTF Webinar and Comment Builder Available for EPA Draft Fungicide Strategy | The FIFRA Endangered Species Task Force hosted a webinar last week reviewing the technical aspects of EPA’s Draft Fungicide Strategy. A recording of the webinar and presentation slides are available in the Resource Hub of FESTF Lens.
EPA’s Draft Fungicide Strategy is available on Regulations.gov, and comments are due June 29, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. EDT.
FESTF has also developed a Comment Builder to help stakeholders understand how to submit comments and where EPA is specifically seeking feedback.
CPDA will be submitting comments on the Draft Fungicide Strategy and encourages members with relevant data, examples, or operational experience to review the FESTF materials and consider providing input to EPA.
CPDA appreciates FESTF’s continued technical leadership on ESA implementation and encourages members to review the webinar materials, the Draft Fungicide Strategy, and the Comment Builder ahead of the June 29 deadline.

FESTF Lens Mitigation Tracker Available for ESA Mitigation Review
The FIFRA Endangered Species Task Force has developed a mitigation tracker through FESTF Lens to help stakeholders review and compare pesticide mitigation measures tied to recent ESA-related decisions.
The tracker summarizes spray drift, runoff and erosion, and geographically specific mitigations, with filters that allow users to narrow results by active ingredient, pesticide type, and other criteria. Summary information includes buffer zone distance, runoff points, droplet size, state restrictions, and related mitigation details.
For CPDA members, this is a useful tool for tracking how ESA mitigations are being applied across pesticide decisions and for identifying trends that may affect labels, application practices, and product use.
FESTF notes that the tracker is provided for general informational purposes and is not a substitute for pesticide product labels. Applicators should always read and follow the full product label and consult applicable EPA dockets, state officials, or extension specialists as needed.

Keller and Heckman Announces 2026 Practical Primer on Pesticides
CPDA member Keller and Heckman has announced that its 2026 Practical Primer on Pesticides will be held Tuesday, September 22, through Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
The comprehensive course will cover pesticide regulation at the federal and state levels, with attorneys and scientists from Keller and Heckman providing both legal and scientific perspectives. Topics will include FIFRA, EPA rules and procedures, pesticide registration, labeling, production, import and export requirements, and other emerging developments in the pesticide regulatory landscape.
For CPDA members, this program may be a valuable opportunity to deepen understanding of the regulatory framework governing pesticide products and stay informed on new developments affecting compliance, registration, and product stewardship.
The seminar agenda and additional program details will be announced soon. Members interested in attending are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.

ESA Communications Resources: What's Coming in 2026 & Beyond for CPDA Members
As ESA requirements continue to evolve, CPDA is equipping members with practical communications tools designed to help simplify a complex policy conversation for growers.
This week, CPDA is highlighting its "What's Coming in 2026 & Beyond" resource, which discusses how more active ingredients are entering re-registration and new registration phases. As ESA evolves, up to 1,100 products could be impacted by new buffer requirements.
These materials are intended to support a consistent industry message and help members communicate clearly through the voices growers already know and trust, including agronomists and sales teams.
