“I feel if you have benefited and enjoyed our industry, supporting the foundations is a great way to say, 'Thank You!' and it supports our industry’s future leaders!” - Joe Sorrentino

“Supporting the foundation kills two birds with one stone for me. First, it honors my lifelong friends Joe Hale and Bob Lyons. Second, the student sponsorship program has turned into a valuable asset for me and Wolf Trail Engineering in the form of a talent pipeline." - Nelson Hall

Enriching the Student Experience

One part of the current IIBEC strategic plan is to enrich the student experience during their year of student membership. During the past month, Stephanie M. Robinson, BASc, PEng and Kenrick J. Hartman, RBEC, PE, LEED AP BD+C presented an introduction to the building enclosure to the 31 students planning to attend the BES in Indianapolis.

Additionally, the IIBEC Emerging Professionals Committee presented a session for all current IIBEC student members on getting your first credential. Panel included Jo Madrid, Simone Patterson , Justin L. Bell, RBEC, RRO, REWO, CDT, Violet R. Spiewak, RA, and Mallory C. Buckley, RRO, PE.

Many thanks to these IIBEC members who invested their time in the future of our industry with these two events!

Take It To The Limit

2027 Foundations' Auction and Reception

Electric guitar signed by The Eagles (Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, Don Felder, and Timothy B. Schmit) donated by Elevate Commercial Roofing Systems.

The 2027 Foundations' auction and reception is beginning to take shape. GAF will be our sponsor and our theme this year will be "Take It To The Limit." We've already received some very cool rock and roll memorabilia, including a signed Eagles electric guitar and a Led Zeppelin 50th anniversary signed display of "Physical Graffiti". If you are into movies, we also received a 50th Anniversary "Jaws" display signed by Steven Spielberg, Richard Dreyfuss, and John Williams as well as a framed and signed "Shrek" animation. WOW!

Hold your calendar for Sunday March 21, at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center, Hemisfair Foyer, Level 3 from 5:30 PM to 7 PM CT,

prior to the closing banquet.

We're currently looking for volunteers for the event as well as auction and raffle donations. Contact Rick Gardner at Rgardner@iibec.org if you are able to help.
