Welcome Wendi L. Werner!

We are so excited to welcome Rev. Wendi L. Werner to our Nassau community this month as our Transitional Associate Pastor. Please welcome her warmly when you see her on Sunday, or during the week. We are grateful to God for her presence and leadership among us.

Wendi L. Werner serves as Transitional Associate Pastor, with an emphasis on pastoral care. In this season of pastoral transition, she has been charged with leading the Nassau community through a mission study. This process of congregational self-evaluation seeks to help Nassau discern an answer to the first question asked by Jesus in John’s gospel: What are you looking for?

Wendi has served PC(USA) churches in the central part of New Jersey since 1995, most recently in a 17 year call as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at Dayton. She has been active in presbytery in a variety of roles, including working as part of the team that reimagined boundaries for presbyteries across the state. Wendi is a two-time presbytery moderator, serving in the former New Brunswick presbytery and as the first nominated and installed moderator of Coastlands Presbytery.

Wendi has been trained in conflict mediation and is part of the Northeast Synod’s Mediation Network. Additionally, she holds a certificate of completion in Mediation and Conflict Management from the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. She has been a student of family systems with an emphasis on Bowen theory for the past several years.

Wendi is married to Nassau’s Director of Worship & Arts. They are the proud parents of Sophie & Emily.
