Covid Protocol
Everyone will need a mask to enter the building, and adults 18 and over must present proof of vaccination at the door. We will have volunteers at the library door to check vaccine cards, just as with the winter concerts. Everyone must enter the main doors to go to the theater. People will be given a small note paper to show at the ticket table or to the ushers that they've had their card checked. Student volunteers will serve as ushers to get people to their seats and hand out programs. (Guidelines subject to change.)
Please leave plenty of time to get checked in for the show! Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Choir
State Solo and Ensemble:
The State Solo & Ensemble Competition is on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30 at Central Washington University in Ellensburg. This will be the first in-person state competition in 3 years. What an incredible opportunity for our choir students.
Vocal Ensemble (Vocal Jazz), Chamber Choir, Tenor Bass Quartet, and the Lili and Anne duet are competing on Friday (the ensemble day), while several soloists are competing on Saturday, the solo day.
We need parents to help drive carpools to Ellensburg and back on Friday April 29. We will be leaving early Friday morning, Time TBD (7-8 am estimate) and not leaving Ellensburg until about 5 pm on Friday.
Ensemble students who also have a solo on Saturday should consider staying Friday night with a parent/guardian in Ellensburg.
Volunteer Drivers Needed. To drive you need to have the volunteer application completed and approved. There is additional driving paperwork to complete, including submitting a 3 year Driving Abstract. Unless you have not driven this year, in which case you do NOT need to complete the abstract (everyone is allowed one “free” drive without supplying the abstract).
Please reach out to choir reps Lori and Stuart Onstad at bpabchoirrep@gmail.com if you are able to volunteer to drive (include the number of students you can transport) or if you are planning to spend the night with your student in Ellensburg.
We’d love to have you join us!

Auditions for Spring Play are March 30!
Auditions for BPA Midsummer Night’s Dream are March 30 at 3:45 pm in the Performing Arts Center (PAC).
Pick up a packet in the Black Box (NE224) before the auditions. Auditions will include preparing a memorized monologue from the several supplied in the packet! Cast requirements: 13–21 (some roles are not gender specific).
Questions? See Mr. Riley.
Set in the DISCO era, this will not be the boring old Shakespeare you think it will be!
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
May 12, 13, 14 and 19, 20, 21
This beloved comedy written by William Shakespeare c. 1595 or 1596 is set in Athens, and consists of several subplots that revolve around Theseus and Hippolyta’s marriage.
One subplot involves a conflict between four Athenian lovers.
Another follows a group of six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the wedding. Both groups find themselves in a forest inhabited by fairies who manipulate the humans and are engaged in their own domestic intrigue.
The play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular and is widely performed.

Mattress Sale April 30
Who talks about mattresses? Well, if you need a new one, it’s an easy conversation. Families and friends can enjoy HUGE savings off of retail prices at our upcoming Mattress Fundraiser on April 30th from 10 am - 5 pm.(one day only in the gym at BHS). If your student (family) buys a mattress or sends friends or family to the fundraiser, they will earn $50 for every mattress that is added to their ASB account! (ASB funds can help pay fees, camps, trips – a good chance all or some of those will be coming back in force!). This is still a ways off, but we wanted you to know it was coming to our school.
