Everyone is invited to gather at Cedar Ridge Camp for worship and a picnic on Sunday, August 30. Pastor Tami will be preaching. Worship begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeside Pavilion, with the picnic to follow. The pavilion is easily accessible for those with limited mobility. There will be no worship service at the church, but there will be a Zoom option available. The address is 4010 Old Routt Rd, Louisville, KY 40299.

Prayer Group for the Middle East

Feel free to join us Thursdays on Zoom, in-person, or both. This group has enabled such support for one another as we all struggle to cope with the tragedies in the Middle East and the on and off cease fires and prisoner releases. The first Thursday of each month the group will meet in person. Please reach out to Soni for locations.

We would be grateful to have others join us. Email Soni at soni.castleberry@gmail.com to get the Zoom link and be added to the group email list for regular communication.

DID YOU KNOW? What Presbyterians Believe

This June in Milwaukee, the PC(USA) General Assembly passed policies to explore more deeply a Presbyterian understanding of families, gender, and sexuality in various ways.

One policy calls for a theological study of inclusion: "Fund and develop a comprehensive theological framework document and study guide that addresses human sexuality and gender, which would reflect and support the denomination’s commitment to full inclusion of all people, and which would help the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) live into that commitment more fully." (https://www.pc-biz.org/search/3001501).

Another policy calls us to confession for the church's role in the HIV/AIDS epidemic: "That the 227th General Assembly confess and repent that the church actively participated in the rise of the HIV/AIDS pandemic through harmful theological frameworks and heteronormative assumptions, participating in the isolation and stigmatization of people living with HIV/AIDS through rejection, judgment, and abandonment; seek forgiveness from siblings harmed and commit to repair through transformative theological and pastoral action" (https://www.pc-biz.org/search/3001415).
