Membership Scholarship (Need-based fee waiver)
AMWA understands that the cost of joining professional organizations such as AMWA can be a burden when taking into consideration the cost of applying to medical school and other expenses. In an effort to be more inclusive and break down financial barriers, AMWA has created a need-based membership scholarship for students interested in joining AMWA. Recipients of the scholarship will be chosen on a rolling basis based on extenuating circumstances and personal embodiment of AMWA’s goals.

The Pixorize Scholarship
Pixorize, a visual medical school student resource, is offering students a scholarship this month! Each scholarship will have one grand prize winner that gets a free subscription to Pixorize along with $250, and two runner-ups that will each get a free subscription to Pixorize. Applicants for the scholarship must complete an application which consists of submitting an idea for a way to visualize a concept you have learned throughout your medical school prerequisite courses.
DEADLINE: October 24th, 2022.

The Science Ambassador Scholarship
Open to any high school senior or undergraduate student who is pursuing or planning to pursue STEM programs. Applicants must create a video explaining a STEM topic which they are interested in.

Leader Highlight
Sai Chelluri, External Relations Chair
Sai Chelluri is a Molecular and Cell Biology major at UC Berkley graduating a year early this spring with an emphasis in Immunology. She has been involved with AMWA since her first semester of college, serving as the former Region 2 Director and leading the UC Berkeley branch as Program Director.
In addition to AMWA, she conducts infectious disease research on campus investigating Dengue virus pathogenesis, leads her student government's Commission on Health Advocacy, serves as President of the Coalition of Concerned Medical Professionals at Berkeley, where she connects low-income workers with health care often inaccessible to them, and works at her university’s on-campus health services center. She is most proud of the supportive community of fellow premedical students that AMWA fosters and is honored to be serving it this year!
Fun fact: Sai can speak 4 languages!
