Today's Food Truck & Fellowship was Canceled.
Note from Ellen
Dear Friends,
We’ll make a big jump from Abraham and Sarah to their great-grandson Joseph this week. To state the obvious, a lot happens in the 27 chapters we’re flying over, but one constant is God’s covenant with Abraham. God promises to make a great nation out of Abraham and Sarah’s descendants and to bless the world through those descendants. And that promise appears to be in jeopardy at every turn. The Joseph saga is no different. The story of Joseph covers a longer stretch of scripture than any of his forefathers and foremothers. Chapters 37-50 of Genesis read like a novel, with one coherent plotline (with the exception of chapter 38). And the covenant looks to be in jeopardy at many points.
Our text for Sunday comes from chapter 39. While this episode with Potiphar’s wife has many of the trappings of a soap opera, the text also pushes us to wonder what it means for God to be with Joseph. What shape does blessing take? What does it mean to prosper in God’s eyes?
I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday when we’ll wonder about these things together.
Grace and peace,
Ellen

Mind the Gap: Midweek Bible Study with FPC and Sardis Presbyterian Church
This fall, as the Narrative Lectionary takes us through the Old Testament by a different path than last fall, our friends at Sardis Presbyterian Church have invited us to join them for a study of the texts that fall between the Sunday readings.
Led primarily by the Rev. Dr. Joe B. Martin and occasionally by Renda Brinson, Casey Aldridge, and Jodi Martin, the study will consider stories and events that took place between the Sunday readings. The group meets in person and on Zoom on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings.
For more information and/or the Zoom link, contact Ellen, Casey, or Jodi.
