I know that a lot of customers at both stores spend some time down in Florida for part of the year and I hope all of you are safe. After watching the devastation of Hurricane Ian last week I know that my mom and dad, who moved to Fort Myers in May, were certainly directly effected and seem to have lost their condo, but they are now back up here and safe. The condo and everything that was in it can be replaced, they can not, so we are glad they are OK and there is a long road ahead to see what the next steps are. We know they are not alone and they saw first hand the destruction that came with this storm so please consider donating to the RED CROSS to help those in the Fort Myers/Sanibel area that have lost everything.
Now that we are into October it is time to start thinking about Thanksgiving! We have menus in the stores and on our website and we are ready to start taking orders as soon as you are ready but here are a few things for this year:
-Prices are higher than last year across the board. As we have been seeing in the last few years, prices on everything are going up and poultry has not been spared.
-Any turkeys over 16# will be VERY LIMITED!! We placed our order a month ago and were told we would only get 50% of what we ordered. This is due to the avian flu earlier this year and will be an industry wide issue. We will not be the only ones without that size turkey
-We will have turkey breast options to add to your turkey order if we are unable to get you the big turkey you need, but those were also effected so some of the larger sizes will also be in short supply.
-The order deadline will be Sunday November 20th. After we close on that day there will be no more orders, add-ons or changes.
