Dear Scholars,

Mental health is integral to living a healthy, balanced and productive life.  But stigma surrounding mental health sometimes prevents us from getting the care we need.

We've teamed up with Active Minds (AM) to help you have open conversations about mental health on your campus, engage your peers and encourage them to get help, or get help yourself when needed.
What is Active Minds?
  • A national nonprofit organization supporting mental health awareness and education for students

  • A leader for young adult mental health advocacy and suicide prevention.

  • AM has 450 student-led college chapters to raise awareness, educate, and de-stigmatize seeking help.
How can you get involved?
Learn more about Active Minds and consider starting a chapter on your campus!

With the help of Active Minds, student-led chapters work to increase mental health awareness on campus by bringing education and resources. They also promote positive mental health, educate peers about the signs and symptoms of mental health disorders, and encourage students to reach out for help when needed.

Check out this flyer for more info and read their Starting a Chapter FAQs to learn how to start a chapter.

Active Minds would also like you to know about these  self-care  and  how to help a friend  resources.
Why start a chapter?
  • Chapters play an important role in referring students to resources and starting conversations about mental health in efforts to break any stigma.

  • It can help you manage your own mental health by serving as a passionate mental health advocate and educator.

Take the initiative, research Active Minds , and begin changing the conversation around mental health today!

Best,
