CEO Advocacy Alert: Uniting for Impact

Dear CCEH Community,

In these rapidly changing times, uncertainty—and even fear—about the future is natural, especially when critical federal funding is at stake. Yet, my message is one of hope and resilience: Together, we have the power to shape policy and safeguard the services our community relies on. Now, more than ever, our collective voice is essential.

Below are concrete steps you can take right now to advocate for continued support and funding:

1.  Complete the CT CAN End Homelessness Funding Survey

Your insights are vital in helping us advocate to both state and federal policymakers. The goal of this survey is to assess the impact a federal funding freeze would have on our community, including ODFC and BOS, homeless service providers, landlords, state agencies, and other key partners. Your input will allow CT CAN End Homelessness to effectively respond to any future actions that may threaten our federal grant funding.

  • Action: Complete the survey by Friday, February 7th
  • Why It Matters: Your feedback is crucial for informing decision-makers in Connecticut and at the federal level about the real-world effects of funding cuts, ensuring that our community's needs are addressed in future policy decisions.

2. Join Our Bi-Weekly Advocacy Calls Focused on Critical Federal and State Funding

  • What: A bi-weekly check-in to share updates, voice concerns, and coordinate advocacy at both state and federal levels.
  • When: Meetings are held on Mondays and Thursdays at 9:00 AM. Note: On Thursday, February 6th, the meeting will begin at 9:30 AM (instead of 9:00 AM).

We need you to tell the Appropriations Committee why investing $33,500,000 in Connecticut’s Homeless Response System is crucial for advancing a comprehensive system of care of homelessness prevention, crisis response, and housing. Your testimony will make a difference!

Political rhetoric can heat up quickly, but it’s cold outside and our neighbors need us. Our strength lies in our unity and our commitment to each other and the communities we serve. I recognize the challenges we face, yet I also see and admire the unwavering determination and courage in our community. Together, we will overcome these uncertainties and work toward a brighter, more secure future for everyone who depends on our efforts.

Thank you for your dedication, your voice, and your action. Let’s stand together to advocate for the support we need to end homelessness once and for all.

With hope, admiration and determination,
