Dear CDC-recognized organizations,
We are encountering a higher than normal number of invalid email addresses when we send out notices. Organizations are routinely prompted to update contact information when they make their regular DPRP data submissions. However, these updates have not occurred for many organizations over the past two years due to staff turnover and/or pauses to program delivery.
Since our current process dictates that only currently listed contacts can make changes to contact information, this presents a problem when the contacts we have are invalid or unresponsive. We want to make you aware of some changes that we will be implementing in order to establish valid contacts for all CDC-recognized organizations.
If a request is made to update a contact by someone who is not currently listed as a contact in our system, the National DPP Customer Service Center (CSC) will reach out to all listed contacts to determine if their contact information is active.
-
If the listed contact/s are active and responsive and the update is approved, one of the active contact/s will be asked to make the update in the DPRP Data Submission and Administrative Portal.
-
To update contacts in the DPRP Data Portal, you must have an active Secure Access Management Services (SAMS) registration. If you are a listed contact for your organization and need a SAMS invitation, please contact the National DPP CSC.
-
If you need direct assistance with your SAMS username or password, please contact the SAMS Help Desk by calling (877) 681-2901 between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm EST Monday - Friday or by sending an email to samshelp@cdc.gov.
- To update contacts, login to the DPRP Data Portal, navigate to ‘Organization Profile’ and select ‘Contacts’. Under ‘Contacts’ complete your contact updates by assigning, unassigning, editing, and/or requesting to delete contact/s.
- If the listed contact/s are active and responsive and the update is not approved by the listed contact/s, the change will not be made.
- If the listed contact/s are not active, the National DPP CSC will complete due diligence, including calling the organization or working with the National DPP State Quality Specialist, in an attempt to determine whether the person making the request is acting in good faith.
- If someone at the organization is able to confirm the request, then the change will be made.
- If no one at the organization can confirm the request, then the change will not be made and the organization’s recognition will be revoked.
We encourage all organizations to take time to review your current contacts and make changes.
Should you have additional questions or need support, please submit a case to the National DPP CSC.
