“Your ordinary acts of love and hope point to the extraordinary
promise that every life is of inestimable value” Desmond Tutu
When the world as we knew it changed, Nyack Center pivoted and began distributing breakfast, lunch, and groceries on March 16. It did not seem possible then that we would still be in this same situation today. This difficult and sometimes devastating time has also been full of community love.
Thank you for everything you have done. Thank you for showing our community so much love. Thank you for volunteering, for donating food, time and funds to Nyack Center’s vital services and programs. We need your help once again.
Every donation to Nyack Center helps ensure that breakfast, lunch, groceries, before and after school programs will continue for our most vulnerable community members…our children. Please donate to The Nyack Center’s critical programs and services for children and families. 98% of our families are at or below the Federal Income Guidelines for Poverty. Nyack Center offers the lowest cost before and after school care in Rockland and The Hudson Valley. Parents say Nyack Center’s services are the only way they can afford to live and work in our community. We need your help to continue to support Nyack Center children and families.
One of our children, Elena walks to Nyack Center with her best friend Jose. They pick up breakfast and lunch, groceries and other supplies for their siblings and a neighbor’s child next door. Their moms are essential workers. The food and supplies they get at Nyack Center are the lifeline Elena, Jose and their siblings need to survive.
Your gift will help ensure our children will conquer small, and sometimes big hurdles, and have opportunities for: 100 children each day to pick up to go breakfast and lunch, another 40 of our children to have breakfast, 80 children to come after school for homework and support, and a safe place for teens to participate in Teen Council, and 45 children to attend summer day camp, and now so much more.
This is what Nyack Center is all about – making a difference for our friends and neighbors, so all our community children have what they need to succeed. We know that when one child succeeds, we all succeed. We are committing ourselves to ordinary acts of love and hope together as a community every day.
A generous community donor is matching every dollar you donate up to $10,000.
Let’s take their lead, give generously, join our community of friends, and together show love and hope in the life of children and families.
Our heartfelt wishes for a happy & healthy season of love.
With gratitude,
The Board and Staff of Nyack Center
